P0480 Cooling Fan I Control Circuit Malfunction

Chrysler has issued a TSB (#18-004-07)containing the fix for an inoperative cooling fan on 2005-06 Caravans and Town & Country vans with the 3.3L or 3.8L engines. The problem usually occurs after driving in heavy snow conditions where snow and ice form at the bottom of the fan shroud and block the fan blade. This condition also sets a P0480 code in the PCM. The fix requires a PCM reflash. If you have an inoperative cooling fan or a P0480 code, check the version label attached to the PCM. If a software update has not been performed since this TSB’s issue date of January 24, 2007, you should have the update performed before you start replacing any parts.

What is an ecm code?
My guess is you are hearing rumors.
and now want to know what
a check engine light means, (means get it serviced)
the book on the car covers all this is you like to read.
the book is a FSM, factory service manual or SM.
i close match is at Mitchells' DIY dot com, google it.
all mech, use it. so not have to memorize , 1million DTC errors.

it the CEL lamp means get car serviced, or learn to scan it and read the book. each error is covered in the book, if you can read.

Error code 480 2004 town and country
This code refers to a cooling fan short or open. Check to see if both cooling fans run when the a/c is on. If not, check the connector of the fan that is not running. Use a test light to determine if the connector has 12 volts on one side and a ground on the other. the engine and a/c will have to be running while performing this test so, be careful!

  • A check engine light means a sensor in the car malfunctioned and sent an error to the cars computer and in turn that light came on. So now you have to get the codes pulled and then write them down and the codes themselves will tell you what caused the light and how to go about fixing the car so the light stays away. You can get the codes read for free at your local major parts store. This can be something minor, a glitch or something more major going on but until you pull the codes you will not know.

Check engine light is an indicator that something is bad with your car and is recorded in your car's computer by mean of error code .

So we cannot pre assume what has caused the light to come on. We must perform a scan on the car and get to know the error code . Once the code is known then you can know the exact fault by means of the code and rectify the same. Most auto zone shop does the scanning for free.

I think the problem is from the Emission System, something must have gone worng with it. and sometimes it is necessary to check the O2 Sensor as well. But it will be better you scan your car with the computer and so as to know where the problem comes from, so the error code from the scanning will now indicate the repair to be done on your car. Kindly take your car to an Auto Service Center to retrieve the error codes and then ask then to repair it for you or you forward the error codes to us so as to know the best repair to be done on the car. Code error for O2 sensor?
Code 21 the check engine light will flash 21 times cycle the ignition key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON within 5 seconds. To cycle the ignition key ON means to turn it only as far as it takes to get the radio to come on. It does not mean to turn the engine on.

It's a very strange code. It shows up in the generic "all manufacturer" code list as "P0601 Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error"
