SOURCE: wheel bearing replacement left front

Diagnosing the bearings can be tricky depending on severity of wear. Typically - drone noise at highway speeds, squeeling, clicking or grinding noises at low speeds that reduce during braking, or pull off the wheel and brake assembly and check the bearing for slack or smoothness of rotation by hand. While doing this, check the brake assembly thoroughly - generally a more likely culprit of wheel noise.

Wheel bearing replacement is not for the novice backyard mech. - you will need pullers, press, etc. If you can get a rebuilt assembly - much easier.

SOURCE: How do you rplace an ignition lock cylinder on a 98 toyota corolla

You can do this one yourself if you want it does not require removing the steering wheel. just the plastic housing from the steering column.
remove housing/cover. then look at housing with cylinder lock assem. on bottom about 1.2 inches or so from the end of the lock assembly you will see a very small hole insert metal pin into hole and push in while turning the key in the ignition backwards to accessory positionyou will feel the pin your pushing move in a bit, then you should be able to pull the cylinder assembly out. insert new assembly with key in the same position and turn forward this will install your new assemlby then reassemble your plastic column covers.

SOURCE: how to take out and reinstall new axle on 1996 toyota corolla,

1. Jack up and support car on jack stand. Make sure to chock wheels and or lock the parking brake on.
2. Remove wheel
3. Remove cotter key, castle lock and nut at center of rotor that attaches the axle. - If you lack and impact gun to remove this - it is easier to loosen this nut with all of the wheels on the ground.
4. Remove outer tie rod from spindle, Tap out with hammer. Should not require much force.
5. Remove the single bolt from the lower ball joint and separate from spindle.
6. Pull axle out of spindle and remove from transmission. This may require you to drive this out with a hammer and punch ( I use a brass punch), make sure not to damage threads if you intend to reuse the axle.

To install reverse the procedure. Make sure to replace any cotter key removed with new ones during install.

Torque specs you need are

Ball Joint to Spindle = 91 ftlbs
Tie rod to spindle = 36 ftlbs
Drive axle hub nut = 166 ftlbs

SOURCE: 2004 TOYOTA COROLLA TRUNK

I have a corolla 2003 and I had the same problem. I turned the key to the left and the lock turned left, engaging the valet parking mechanism. I could not turn the key to the right and could not get access to the trunk because the lever next to the driver seat was disengaged.
The way I solved this problem is as follow:on the back driver seat I pulled the back seat forward to leave an opening and snick my arm in the trunck. Then I grabbed the cable used to latch the seat and I pulled forward, i.e. toward the front of the car. The cable is connectred to the trunck so that it can be disconnected easily if pulled towards the front. If you pull towards the back it will remain attached to the trunck. So grab the cable an pull towards the front, and it will release itself. Since the cable is flexible, you can pull it out of the trunk from the same the opening you put your arm, and then disenagage the driver back seat. Fold forward the back seat and get into the trunk and use the lever in the latch of the trunck to open it. The turnk will open.

If the lock does not turn, you need to disconnect the lock from the mechanism, so that the driver seat lever can start working again. To do this, and with the trunk open, remove the cover holded by nine plastic pins. Do not break the pins. After removing the cover, you will see the lock holded by two nuts. Remove the nuts with a rachet. The lock will be loose, and disconnect the lever that connects the lock to the latch. At this point the driver seat lever will start working again. Close the trunk and verify that the driver seat lever opens the trunk. Now you can open and close the trunk , and have time to call the dealer for a new lock.
Good luck.

I have a 1993 toyota corolla wagon dx, that I can not get out of park.Does anybody know anything about this and how to fix it?Thanks

If you replaced the solenoid that locks the shifter in park, the problem could be the brake light switch on the brake pedal. The pedal sends power to the solenoid to unlock the shifter.
