The high side is located in the engine compartment, passenger side aginst the firewall. The low side is trickier. it is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment in the front by the headlamps. Easiest way to get to it is to have a lift handy. If lift not available be ready to contort your arm up behind the headlamps.

SOURCE: Can I recharge the AC on my 1997 grand prix my

Yes, you can get a can of freon that has a blue hose with it, R134A freon. Look for the ac line in the engine compartment that has a blue cap on it, (the smaller line), not the red cap. Just push the connector on the hose on to the connection on the line. Have the car idling with all windows closed and the ac on at full blast. Do not turn can upside down or the liquid will flow into the system. While it is charging, shake the can every few minutes, or read the instructions on the can.
The best can to get is the one that has a small guage attached along with the blue hose.

The low pressure port is on the compressor on the bottom side. It should have a black cap on it.

SOURCE: I need to specifically know

Not sure what year your car is but on 2004's the low side is low behind the engine on the pax side. Near the alternator.

Recharge a/c on my 2004 3.8 L Gran Prix

Follow the ac lines from the ac compressor toward the firewall ,to the inside of the car, look at the large ac line,it will have the ac low side service port on it,it will be the only one you can hook up to with the one hose charge set up you have,it will not hook up to the wrong one so you can mess up,if there is anything else you need to know please let me know thank you ,and please rate.

I drive a pontiac grand prix 2000 the ac doesnt work im guessing i have to recharge the freon but the fans dont start so im thinking it could be something else.

It would be the fuse for the fans or they don't work at all. And you would need to recharge the freon too. Hope this helps!?

Please rate solution - Thanks.
