Ok, it ran out of gas. We put gas back int the car and it still won' start. Turn the key forward it cranks has power but won't start. The anti-theft system warning has been telling us it may lock up and may not restart. What could this be the wireing r fuel pump???? Please HELP!
First, obviously, put gas back in the tank.
Check the fuel pump fuse, (20 amp yellow fuse in the lower left corner of the group). If that is not blown, turn the key on and pound hard on the bottom of the fuel tank. The fuel lubricates the fuel pump, once it runs dry, the pump can lock up. Once the pump is immersed in fuel again, a sharp jolt will unstick it and let it pump up to pressure again. If it locks up for too long, the pump will burn out and need replaced.
We found this out by accident, got mad and pounded on the bottom of the tank and the pump jumped to life.
