You need to know how an ac system works to make repairs.
It could be an electrical problem, low on freon, or a mechanical problem with the compressor.
A mechanic would check for power to the compressor and the freon charge with a gauge set.
Freon is minus 30 degrees coming out of the can.

The first thing that is done is to see if the system is low on refrigerant charge by hooking up a set of AC gauges, if that proves to be the case the system has a leak, it must be repaired before it is recharged.

SOURCE: my AC in my 95 aurora blows out hot air.

Try either having it recharged by a pro or I believe you can go to auto zone and by the ac recharge in a can. I f that doesn't work it could be the trinary switch.

SOURCE: ac blowing hot air. System was charges,

Sounds like your blend door actuator is not functioning.
It probably has a broken arm which moves the door to allow cold and or hot air.
Do some research on how to fix it.
You may have to remove the dash.
You will need much patience.
I wish you well.

1994 vw passat (grdaugters car) there was alot of white smoke wheels are locked, can't ghange gears but will start up in park. Any sugestions?

I'm guessing the vehicle is an automatic? If so it sounds like a transmission problem. Obviously, check your fluids first. Transmission, oil, etc.
I'd suggesting calling your local VW dealer and explain your problem. Ask to speak with a maintenance tech. I'd say it is something in the transmission if it's an automatic or a stock shift.
Problem could be in the linkage in the transmission or a variety of other places.
Fluid check is a good first place to start. Beyond that tow it in to dealer or a good mechanic you can trust.
Obviously, don't try to force into gear as it will just worsen your dilemma.

I believe there is a chemical that you can add to the radiator to indicate whether the head gasket is blown by changing to a certain color, but a qualified mechanic should be able to tell if the head gasket is blown by doing a compression test on the engine, if he can't I don't think I would let him touch my vehicle,if the head gasket is blown it will need to be repaired......hope this helps....cheers

You can always get them from your local GM dealer, obviously costing alot so i dont think that is the answer you are looking for. Mainly i can advise you to look on ebay or maybe even a local scrap yard

Mitsubishi eclipse problems. slow takeoff, rough idling, knocking

The rattling can be the exaust pipes hitting the car as the engine shakes. A vacume leak is a possible problem as the car has been worked on alot as the turbo is gone and the system was made to have one I hope you did'nt give much for this problem child as they go wackey and stay that way pretty easy. The check engine light is most likly on when running or it doesn'tr work one. Engine control codes need pulled and if mixture controll cdes are in the list the map senser hose needs checked the timing both ingtion and cam . The control codes could tip you off that the map senser isn't getting vacume and maybe applying an outside vacume sorce to the senser can clue you in to the other problems. ( make the computer think there is good vacume so it'll run smoth enough for you to find the leaks ) Ordinary compression cheak may find low cylinders as burnt valve and wore out engine are posible. These cars when HOTRODED can't last long and the tuner boys pull their money out after they blow em and sell the car as it's done as far as money goes.

Losing water

Probably is a leak in the head gasket between the water jacket and the cylinder or possibly a cracked head. Either way, it's not cheap even if you are fixing it yourself. Rick

My Temp. gauge is broken

I first filed a complaint with the BBB Autoline. After getting this on record and printing numerous problems with this vehicle and this issue off the internet, I approached my dealership in Memphis where I have my car serviced. Talk ONLY to the service manager.

He was very kind and agreed this should not be happening to a car just out of a warranty. They did a diagnostics test, made sure it was the cluster, and ordered this part. They replaced it for me for only $100 and this included the diagnostics and all labor. Press this issue, they will work with you.
