My Toyota avalon A/C compressor cycles on and off to often about every 40 seconds. I Tried to fill system with freon but i dont know what number to go by. when compressor kicks on the gage reads 45psi (last # in the blue section on gage), when it cuts off the gage goes down to 15psi (which is the center # of the green section of the gage) with an ambiant temperture between 65F and 75F. is this normal. oh and now the air comming out of the vents in side of the car is comming out cold now like it should be. so the little amount of freon i put in the A/C system made a difference but im worried more about the compressor cyceling like that. can you help me?
Ok. If you are putting freon in a car from a can. It has stop. Leak in it and their are a small hole about the size of the tip of a ink pen. The stop leak will clog it up and starve the compressor of oil and burn it up. So the money you save diy in it will cost you a summer in a hot car or doing a costly pump job.
Not sure what the question is - but you have to have the compressor running to add freon.
Most times if it is low you have to jumper the low pressure switch to make the compressor run long enough to add freon.
Under normal conditions, low pressure should be 35-45psi and high side should be 200-300psi with the compressor and cooling fan running.
SOURCE: 97 toyota avalon, need radio code and instructions on how to enter it ad1700
The procedure is written in the manual
SOURCE: AC gets cool not cold, but has full freon
expansion valve setting probably needs adjusting for correct super heat setting.
SOURCE: 2004 toyota sienna a/c not working one side cold other side warm
there are two a/c lines that run down the fire wall under the van to the rear.right around the bottom of the fire wall the is a connection point on both lines. you will find a leak there .replace the orings and recharge system. also you will need two specail toyota tools to release the couplings.i have done this repair on several sienna's. let me know if this helps.
SOURCE: what is the toyota number for the cabin air
The cabin air filter is actually pretty easy to change. Here are the steps:
Shouldnt take to long usually takes me about 5 minutes to change it.
As for the toyota cabin air number im not to sure on that but you can go to any parts store and pick up an aftermarket cabin air which will save you a bit of money, same quality..
