ISO 9141-2 refers to the communication protocol that allows an OBD-II scanner to communicate with a vehicle's modules via the serial data line. This is not to be confused with a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) that is retrieved from one of the modules. DTCs are five digit codes with the first digit being a letter that specifies the type of code. For example, DTC P0301 starts with the letter "P" and is therefore a "Powertrain" code. To retrieve codes, a capable OBD-II scanner must be plugged into the data link connector (DLC). I'm having a starting problem which I believe is PATS security system related. engine cranks fine crank sensor is ok.
What make , model and year vehicle ? You mention PATS , that's ford , mercury , lincoln . Light flashing when cranking the vehicle ,anti-theft problem . Nothing you can do , unless you have a factory scan tool . Your best bet ,dealer . Disconnecting the battery isn't going to do anything . Need to have vehicle checked for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes , do diagnostic's for the code . Replace or fix what ever the problem is . If a module needs to be replace , key's need to be programmed . Dealer or mobile lock smith that is licensed ! Don't know what your trying to say here OBD reading protocol OSD 9141 AND KEYWORD:2000 ,these have nothing to do with PATS -

Have a Honda Accord 2008 v6 chk engineer light on code iso 9141 meaning?
Trevor, I believe this is not a code, iso 9141 is communication protocol/ communication speed, When the scan tools make a connection to the OBD port it matches the communication speed at which your ECM communicates with the scan tool. If that is all you are seeing for a code and your engine light is on, try a different scan tool. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck
