I have a 99 ford taurus and when I push on the gas it takes about 3 seconds for 1st gear to catch and go. After I am driving the tranny shifts great. I do here a slight clicking noise coming from unederneath my car. The transmission fluid is full red and not burnt. Any idea of what this could be?
You may want to change your transmission fluid and filter for a start

i have a 2001 ford taurus and it did the same thing a while back, call the dealer and ask them for the sensor that is behind the brake pedal. It is not the transmission .. cost less that 25 bucks to fix and takes about 20 min

this is caused by a piston in the transmission that has a crack in it once it warms up the crack seals and operates normally.being cold the crack opens up allowing fluid to flow past it. take to trans shop as soon as you can, will be minimum repair if it has not caused further damage in the transmission.
