1996 lincoln contintal gets hot and looses power

wouldnt start before all that or just after, (hummmmmmm)
wont crank or cranks robustly but wont start.
check fuses yet?

look in the user manual for fuel shutoff switch which might be activated by towing. Normally this is only activated in an accident...

Try the ignition module. You will need a special tool usually found in the tool section at Advance Auto. (ford ignition module removal tool)

that would be found in the Hayens repair Manual they have them at auto zone.. sorry

Try this tip. The hazard flasher switch sometimes becomes sticky internally, so go out to the car and work the switch up and down repeatedly, then turn the key on and see if the signals begin working. If this helps then the multi-function switch will need to replaced. Hope this helps. Feel free to leave a comment in my profile if you need more help.

your fuel pump is going bad. replace fuel filter also.

Probably clogged cat converter,see locale exhuast shop,they can check the preasure.
