Buick Lesabre Heated Seats not working

I have a 2004 Builck Lesabre purchased in July 2008. I tried my drivers side heated seat and it didn't work. The passenger sicde worked @ that time. I took the car back into the dealer I purchased it from and they told me that the drivers side thermastat needed replaced. The service was performed and my seat worked for 1 week and quit. ALSO, I tried the passenger side heated seat @ this time and NOW , it doesn't work!! I am so aggravated. What would casue both seats not to work now? The dealer wants me to bring it back in but claims their work on the drivers side should not effect the passengers side seat. Any suggstions?

Would the above situation you mentioned cause not only the dirvers seat to quick working after just havint the thermastat reparaied, but also cause the other seat to quick working also? It worked before the drivers seat was repaied! Where can I get a manual to reseaqrch this in greater detail for problem solving?

The problem is most likely caused by shorted heating grids in the seat cushion itself, kind of like the heating element in an electric blanket, very expensive to replace.

Heated seat does not work on drivers side. Fuse checks ok

the grid in your seat has shorted out if the right one works The relay controls both seats so you diffently have a burnt grid

FRONT HEATED SEATS

you need to check the resistance in each of the heated seat elements in the seat. There's a two wire connector under the back of each front seat. The connector should be green. disconnect it and measure the resistance along the circuit going into the seat. if it isnt .1 - .3 ohms, replace the appropriate heated seat element

2001 Buick lesabre gas guage not working, heated seats not workin

I have a 2001 and just replaced the fuel pump assembly in the tank because the fuel gauge didn't work or worked irratic. After talking to the partsman it sounded like this was common. The contact for the sensor wears away and looses contact. You will see that the new fuel pump module has different type of metal wiper contact. As for the heated seats, I have an issue with driver side also and haven't had a chance to look into it yet.

2003 buick lesabre heated seats wont work

I had this problem, but only on the driver's side (with leather seats). Sometimes the switch would come on, but I could not get it to go back off (and the seat would not heat).

I ended up removing the drivers front seat cover (only the bottom part), folding it back from the driver's door to the middle of the car. You also have to unplug the wiring harness underneath the seat. I found a black spot burned in the foam. This is where a wire had broken. I carefully pulled the wire together, then soldered it. I put everything back together, and it has been working ever since (about 6 months - and getting lots of use in the middle of the winter).

I think the only way to replace the heated seat wires is to replace the whole seat cover. I was glad I could fix mine by soldering it.

Heated Seats

I had the same problem on my 04 LeSabre. To check to see whether it was the element or the switch, I unplugged both seats and ran jumper wires to make left switch control the right element. The switch and element worked properly. Then I ran jumper wires to make right switch control the left element. The problem was the same, so it was the element was bad.

I had my element replaced at the dealership, since I didn't want to wreck my leather seats. It cost over $400 (about $150 for the element). I guess it just tucks next to the old element - the old element stays in place.

Drivers heated seat won' work

Probably a fuse!
Under the dash on the drivers side or under the hood.
New cars have them labeled right at the fuses not in the manual!
Hope this is helpful.

Good Luck!

Heated Seats

check for an open fuse. if the fuse is fine then it is most likely the switch or relay
