Systems malfunction when we get heavy rain. Yesterday after major storms, the remote would not unlock the car, so I unlocked with key. Engine started but I noticed no signal lights working, outdoor temp set to ---, windshield wipers worked on only high speed. I have an hour commute, so as I drove these problems cleared up. When I arrived home and turned off the ignition and pulled out the key, the security alarm started going off. I tried putting the key back in, restarting the car, driving out of the garage, nothing worked, alarm still going off. Finally when I opened the driver door with engine still running it stopped. Had to disconnect the battery to make the alarm stop. When I tried to reconnect the battery the next morning (with driver side door open) alarm still sounding. What can I do?
SOURCE: Battery or Altenator?
Ya it is most likely the battery since those are more common to ware out.

Hello ilandskater2,
It sounds like you may have caused a plug for the lights to come undone or you lost the ground to one side of the car. Some newer vehicles use a reverse type ground system with small computer controlled relays in the system. It sounds like you are getting a reverse feed on the power system under the hood. look at all the plugs and check to see if they are completely pluugged in and check the fuse block to see if any are blown causing the feed back. Check all the grounding points under the hood also. Hope this helps. Regards, rcampsr

very common issue with the vigor, it`s the power door actuator or something...there are 2 ways to fix it:
- the harder way (unless you`re half-decent at DIY car stuff, which I`m not), all you really are doing is cleaning the contacts..a detailed guide is here

- OR the easy way is to just trick your car into thinking the hood is open so the alarm will never arm itself. Taken from another post:
You can effectively permanently disable the alarm (who actually bothers to respond when they hear a car alarm anyways?) by opening up the hood and finding the little switch that detects whether the hood is closed. Just bend this so that the alarm system always thinks the hood is open and the alarm system will never arm even if you lock the doors.

tow it to a shop. it is unsafe to drive a vehicle in that condition... take it to the acura dealer....
