That should be the problem.
Check the voltage at the dimmer on each setting.

switched dimmer switch and it worked, then went to back up the car and the problem came back and the lights stopped working again, not relay, not fuses and brand new dimmer switch... electrical and wire problem possibly?

SOURCE: 1999 mazda protege lo beams don't work, hi beam

the relay is built into the switch itself which is likely what is faulty.

SOURCE: The high beam indicator is on. The low beams don't work.

You need a new headlight dimmer switch located on the steering column between the dash and the firewall

The low beams stopped working but my high beams still do on my 1999 Mazda Protege.

  1. I own a Protege and once the low beam bulb burns on one headlight the car electronics quickly cook the bulb on the other headlight as well. it is a poor design by the mfr. Pull both bulbs to make sure the low beam is not cooked.

Mazda cx7. both high beams work and one low beam works. how can i tell if its a headlight or some other problem

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. These new lights have two types lin one bulb, one for the low beam and one for the high beam. Find the bulb that isn't lighting for the low beam and replace it with a new bulb. If it doesn't work, you need to check the wiring to that specific light. Since it is only one, the new bulb should work.

2008 gmc truck Low beams quit working. I have High beams and running lights only. whats possible fix?

Are the bulbs good?

If your low and high beams are on the same bulb, then the low beam elements have blown even though the high beam still works, you need two new bulbs.

No headlights come on but high beams work as well as the other lights the fuses seem to be ok. Please help.

If your highbeams are working fine, you must be referring to your low beams not working I would simply check the 2 bulbs and make sure the low beam filament is good, theres a strong possibility that your BOTH low beam filaments are bad and require replacement of both headlight bulbs to get them working again its a very simple repair.....

Low beams do not work but High beams do

Yes you are... but only the bad onemake sure must be carefully when you take out the old bulbs. take this with you to the spare part..ask the store for the same type...and some times you must say to them type and brand of your car.
when you install new bulbs remember don't touch the glass area 'cause can make light not bright...good luck
