SOURCE: 1996 Jaguar XJ6: Diagnostic (Check Engine) Camshaft Sensor A

If your car is a 4.0L there are no camshaft sensor. Only crankshaft sensor and timing sensor. Dont know your problem but if your car is not running it is very common that the crankshaft sensor is faulty. It is fairly easy replaced and located just above the crankshaft wheel atthe front of the engine. It is mounted with one 8mm boult.

94 jaguar xj6 a/c blowers do not turn on motors are good the

if the motors are good then most probably you need to check the fans as some times when a little older the fans tend to go out of place and get stuck

1987 xj6 ticking noise from right side of engine

My guess would be a sticking valve lifter. Buy a can of Gunk Motor Flush ( NOT radiator flush), use as directed, drain the oil and replace the filter, refill with clean oil, and see is the tick has gone away. Marvel Mystery Oil would work also if you can't find the Gunk.
