Squeaking shocks and struts

On the passenger side of my acura there is squeaking when I turn my steering wheel and when I hit dips and bumps in the road. I have a can of wd 40 ready and want to spray it where it is squeaking but I don't want to ruin anything. Is it my shocks and struts that are squeaking? If so how can I lubricate them myself with the wd 40?

I hit a median while turning left. Why does my vehicle make a loud squeaking noise when I turn the steering wheel or when I hit a bump?

Please get your car checked. You may have bent the Tie rods or the control arm and the Ball joint is making the Squeaking noise. Sway bar end links and Strut bearing will also make noise going over bumps.

Popping and squeaking sound

The popping sound could be UV joints. But hard to tell if one cannot hear them. Worse case scenario, transmission going. The squeaking sound is probably your struts. The upper strut bearings are probably worn, and that could mean the struts are worn too. Depends on the mileage on your vehicle. The springs twist when under stress and this is what the upper bearing is for. In good shape, it would not make any sounds.

Will the struts make a moaning sound if they are going bad?

No they will not....the only thing that is noticeable when the struts **** out is that particular side will botttom out on a dip or speed bump...making a thud noise as the chassis hits the frame or very bad crunchy/squeaking noise....but not a moan.

Where is the sound sound like it is coming from or what or how are you driving when you hear this?

noises are a pig to diagnose from afar but i would get a can of spray silicon and spray one component at a time to find the noise...do it when dry and when you dont hear it guess what?.....

Major squeaking under truck while driving

struts shocks look for leaky fluids near strut body cylinder

there are other suspension componenets but usualy struts make noise when bad also check strut mount for then can come loose or be broken ... but your car would sag that direction

Squeaking sound from shock absorbers

ball joints won't squeak like that; they make a popping noise when they're bad. it is very common for shocks to get water in them and start squeaking, and it's usually a horrible screeching squeak. The only way to get rid of the squeak is to change out the shocks. Hope this helped.

Suspension and steerin wheel

It is difficult to just assess wut is causing the suspension knock. U will have to go under the vehicle or let someone who is experience about this do it. Go under the vehicle and check the entire suspension system, steering ends, rack ends, ball joionts, rubber bushings etc. Well u said u have changed ur shocks but no difference. As for the squeaks, this might be coiming from the universal joint from the steering column. Like I said they really have to be inspected.

On the passenger side of my car the shocks and struts are squeaking. I want to know how to stop this. I have some wd 40 and am ready to spray it somewhere but I don't want to spray it on any parts near the...

The squeaking noise can be coming from alot of different places in the suspention. I would shoot the top the strut where it bolts the the car. The shocks pistons. The base of the spring, Then I would move on the the suspention rubber bushings.

Take car not to spray the rotor or break pads. If you get lubricant on them the pads will be shot.

As for the steering colom try spraying the connector where it bolts to the rack. It will be under the plastic boot.

And white Lithium grease is better than WD40 Get some of that
