I have a 2007 pontiac g5 and my blinker does not turn off whenever i make a left or right turn

Whenever you signal a left or right turn, after completing the turn the blinker does not shut off automatically. Is there an easy fix to this?

SOURCE: Changing blinker on 2007 Pontiac G6

It's a monster pain to get to them, but it's doable. Once you empty the trunk, you'll see 4 black knobs - approx 1.5 inches in diameter. You'll need to remove all of these (they just unscrew, but they are plastic, so be careful not to strip the threading) in order to access the rear light assembly.

They're in there snug, but once you find the appropriate sized socket (I wish I could recall well enough to tell you what size, b/c I remember that it WAS an odd size), you'll have to remove all 3 bolts and then push the whole assembly out from inside the trunk.

Once the assembly is out, you will see the rear of the sockets, which simply push and turn to get the lamps out of. As long as you have everything open, I suggest changing ALL of the lamps (brake, tail, and turn signal) on BOTH sides, since the lamp life for all of these is about the same and it's such a pain to get to them in the first place.

SOURCE: Saturn 2002 VUE Turn Signal not working properly.

You need to check your left side turn/park lamp bulbs for correct part # & installation. If that checks out you deffinetely have a ground problem. When you have other lights blinking with you turn signals you have either a bulb incorrect or a bad/poor ground. If bulbs check out check your forward lamp harness ground.Hope this helps

Inside the steering column, there will be a plastic like knob. This knob should be located right by the signal lever. It sounds like this knob has broken or worn down so that it doesn't snag the lever to cause it to turn off again. On some vehicles, the knob will be inside the lever assembly and this would mean that the entire signal arm will need to be changed. The arm should only be held in by 3 or 4 screws.

SOURCE: I have a 2007 Pontiac G5. There is no ticker sound

The problem is the wiring to the drivers side door speaker. My G5 has the same problem. If you isolate sound to that speaker you will notice the entire speaker doesn't work. Sorry but I haven't figured out how to fix it yet though.

Turn Signal Lamps
The body control module (BCM) is responsible for controlling the turn signals and hazard lamps. When the turn signal switch is placed in either the left turn or right turn position, the BCM receives a signal from the turn signal switch. The BCM then sends an on-off voltage signal to either the left or right turn signals and their instrument panel cluster (IPC) indicator. When the hazard switch is pressed, the BCM receives a signal from the hazard switch. The BCM then will send an on-off voltage signal to all the turn signal lamps. All the turn signal lamps will flash including both IPC turn signal indicators.
Stop Lamps
The body control module (BCM) is responsible for controlling the stop lamps. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the BCM will receive a signal from the brake pedal position sensor. The BCM then supplies battery positive voltage to both left and right stop lamp assemblies and to the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL). The stop lamps are grounded at G401 and G403. The CHMSL is grounded at G302.

Something is messing with the BCM'S mind ,bad input data ,shorted circuit etc... Hooking up a professional type scan tool is needed to read BCM DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes an view live data to the BCM .

2001 Sportage Trailer wire connections

brown to the tail lights. yellow to left turn signal. green to right turn signal. this is a basic 3 wire hook-up i use all the time w/4wire connectors for all trailers. white wire is not used. ground is established when you hook to the ball.
to find the correct wire to splice to, use a testor (has a clip to the bare wire, and a sharp point to the truck frame). using a needle, push it through a wire to rear light harness. turn on the turn signal. check if the connection is the blinker, testing until you have the blinker wire. the tail lights can be attached to the license plate wire. brakes and blinkers use same wire, so brake lights will work whenever the turn signal is attached.
to be sure everything is working right, have a second person go inside the truck and work the signals, brakes and lights one at a time while you are at the back of the trailer telling what to do.
