Flushing the cooling system has its drawbacks. I you needed one freeze plug, you can reasonably suspect the others are surely right close to failure. In this case, starting to fail one at a rime weakest first. Now, as far as the other issues are concerned. What is the question? Sounds like the tazmanian devil had too much time on hand. I don't know the qualifications or integrity of your mechanic, but I do know a reputable, as well asa professional mechanic is not likely to intentionally or even bother to, contribute to these describe issues. Ocassional blue smoke is an internal problem, The AC is an issue in itself, The caalyctic converter is an issue that is too messy, smrlly thing to deal with. Any evisence of how and of what it was gutted? What was repaired or listed as repaired on your invoice? And what state are you in? It appears you may be seeking legal advice and in this forum it would not be an appropriate place to seek it. You may want to refer this to an Attorney for assistance.. Good luck and I hope you reach some resolve on this matter.
SOURCE: AC Blowing Warm Air
Leisalu,
I had the exact same problem as you described on my 02 Tahoe. I took it in for freon recharge at local mechanic shop, but didn't have mechanic check for leak. 2 months later same problem. I took it to Pep Boys and had them check for leak ($35) which they found in the clutch switch. They charged me $26 for the part plus $45 for the labor. Happy to report that the ac has worked fine since then.
Do yourself a favor and pay for them to check for leak BEFORE you waste your money on recharge.

If this is equipped with a rear heater core it is probably plugged up and needs to be disassembled and cleaned out
Make sure the Nissan Altima's front wheels are in the straight-ahead position. With the ignition off, disconnect both battery cables, starting with the negative. Wait at least 10 minutes for the air bag's energy to deplete before continuing.
Detach the driver side air bag and steering wheel. Disconnect the air bag module connector and horn electrical connector from inside the wheel's lids. Use a T150 wrench to remove the bolts Store the air bag module face up.
Take out the passenger side air bag. Remove the glove box to reach the module connector.
Jack up the Nissan Altima and securely place it on jack stands. Place a clean container directly underneath the drain plug located on the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side. Carefully remove the drain plug and drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Put the drain plug back in place and set the coolant aside.
Discharge air conditioner refrigerant. If your car used R-12 refrigerant, it's against the law for you to discharge or recharge the system unless you're an EPA-certified technician, so you may need a professional to do this part. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core tubes from within the engine compartment.
Remove the instrument panel from the car. Remove the lower panels first starting on the driver side. Removal includes all the screws and connectors, the audio/deck pocket, switch panel, center console, grilles, pillar garnish, instrument stay and steering member. You may need assistance taking the panel out.
Disconnect the air conditioning housing by taking off the refrigerant lines and thermo control amp. Remove the heater unit from the car and the heater core from the unit.
Install the replacement heater core to the heater unit. Replace the heater unit and air conditioning housing within the car, reconnecting all the lines.
Reinstall the instrument panel, including the steering member, instrument stay assembly, pillar garnish, grilles, center console, switch panel and audio/deck pocket.
Reconnect the heater hoses to the tubes. Connect the steering wheel, both airbags and the glove box back onto the car.
Fill the cooling system. Use new coolant, if you're not certain the old liquid is still good. Recharge the air conditioning refrigerant (unless it requires an EPA-certified technician). Reconnect both battery cables, starting with the positive one.
Run the Altima's engine to its normal operating temperature. Check the climate control operation and inspect the system for leaks.
If you do not want to go through this hassle you have two other options:
Option 1 pay for a mechanic to do all of the above.
Or
Option 2 buy yourself a 12v plug in ceramic heater or two, one you could keep on the dash for screen clearing duties & another you could keep near or on the center console for body warming duties!, best of luck & i hope this helps.
