SOURCE: 2001 chrysler t&c 3.8 has a misfire in #2

This is a very common problem....and can be a little difficult to troubleshoot.
How long since a tune up?
My 01 did this same thing at 80k miles..ended up being a bad coil. VERY easy to replace, so don't take it to a dealer unless you don't want to do minor wrench turning.
I first did an entire tune up with new plugs and wires....didn't help at all. I measured the resistance of the ignition coil assembly and found that #3 was reading lower than the rest even though it was "in spec". After replacing it, the van has run for thousands of trouble free miles! Worth every penny...gas mileage went from about 14 back to 19! Paid for itself very quickly.
The shocker in all of this was that after doing MUCH shopping around for a coil, the Dealer was the best price at around $80-90. Even Autozone and others were over that price....go figure.
IF you have not tuned it up in a while, pay the extra for a new set of plug wires and new OEM plugs and have them installed by someone competent. Getting the spark plugs installed at the rear of the 3.8 is not a whole lot of fun. I did it myself, but only because I enjoy working on my vehicles.
GOOD LUCK!

SOURCE: Can't find the timing marks on '97 Chrysler Sebring 2.5L V6

Crank mark is obvious but cam marks arent. There are two notches in the tin timing covers behind the cam gears. At about the 2 oclock positions

Testimonial: "Thanks! Turns out we busted the valves when we tried to turn her over, but this would have been great advice if I had asked before hand."

SOURCE: oil sending unit on 2004 chrysler sebring V6

Should be located close to the oil filter. It will screw in like a spark plug. It has a harness plug. Easy to change, save yourself $70 in labor. You will need a fairly large wrench to remove

P0303 cylinder 3 misfire in 2008 Chrysler sebring convertible, changed all spark plugs & coil pack. Engine light continues to come on with this code ?

Recheck all work you have done. Sometimes folks replace the wrong coil pack as they can be easily confusing. If everything seems ok, there are still two possibilities. First, ensure that the fuel injector is consistently firing for the cylinder, and also ensure that it is not constantly firing. Either can cause a misfire, one for too little fuel, one for too much fuel. Lastly, check compression in the suspect cylinder. A broken or burnt valve can cause loss of compression, leading to misfires.

Cylinder 1 misfire where is the cylinder 1

Cylinder 1 is the number 1 combustion chamber, you know, where the pistons are.

If it's a V6 they normally count from the front of the car or engine starting at the driver side.

I have a sebring 2004 v6 2.7 which is misfiring. put it a new coil and changed plug on cylinder that doesnt fire still no spark. im getting power all th way to the plug tested with volt meter.it reads 14...

Invalid test. When plug fires, the wire shoots around 40,000volts. When not firing, there is no current in the wire.
Try switching the misfiring plug wire with another that is firing. Switch them both at the plug and at the coil tower. If that was a bad plug wire, the misfire will now be on the cylinder where you put the suspect wire. This will confirm a bad plugwire.
Good luck.

Had engine light on and running ruff. Had code checked at auto parts store and it shows misfire on clyinder 2. How do I locate cylinder number 2 on a 2004 Chrysler 6 cyl Pacifica

Most front wheel drive V6 chrysler engines are as follows: standing on passenger side of car facing engine, cylinders 1-3-5 are on the left bank, cylinders 2-4-6 on the right. Standing at the hood facing engine (front of car) #2 is on your left front corner of engine. Change / check plugs and wires before doing and deep sensor testing.

P0300 diagnostic code for a chryles sebring lxi coupe 3.0l v6

Hi.

P0300 is random misfire, and can be caused by a number of problem. First check if there are more codes stored in the PCM.

If you have only P0300, check spark plugs, distributor (depending on year distribution coils) and high voltage wires from distributor to spark plugs. Those are the most common cause for random misfire.

If distribution is OK, check for ignition problems. A too rich or too lean mixture can result in misfire. Often the problem is not reported by the PCM with a lean or rich code based on the O2 sensors' input.
Check fuel system, injectors, filter and sensors in air intake and air intake itself, vacuum system etc.

Check with particular attention the EGR system, that is a common fault resulting in random misfire. Chrysler Sebring built in the second half of the 90s are commonly suffering from EGR problems (there are several Chrysler service bulletins on this).

P0300 is often accompanied by symptoms such as engine running rough or shutting down. There are more faults, apart the ones listed that can result in P0300.

Regards.

Ginko.

I have a 2000 Chrysler Sebring. The check engine light is on. The reading is misfire on cylinder 1. Is there a diagram that shows the cylinder by #?

This is a common issue with stale gasoline. Run some injector cleaner and have your mechanic reset the light.
