SOURCE: Turning off airbag

all you have to do is open your passenger door and on the dash by the ac, there is a little hole where you can insert your car key and turn in where it will then turn the passenger airbag off. I have never had to remove anything to turn it off, all you have to do is turn in with your key!!!

SOURCE: turn airbag off for 5 series bmw

The airbags do not need to be and should not be turned off if the *child* is sitting front-facing. The danger to kids in the front seat is that a rear facing baby would be hammered into the back of the seat. A front facing child would be protected as an adult. So, before you hunt down further info ... is your kid still sitting rear facing? And is your forward facing child boosted up with an appropriately fitted lap/shoulder belt?

Airbags in and of themselves are dangerous to kids.

SOURCE: BMW 745i airbag light. Told to replacing airbag clockspring

Hello , check the airbag contact sensor behing the grill assembley . They are located to the left and right of the grill almost to the headlight assemblies. Check the wires to them for corrosion and damage. Check the fuse as well. There should be an air bag testing wire or fuse in the fuse panel. DO NOT UNPLUG THE AIR BAG SENSORS OR HIT THEM !!

SOURCE: My airbag light is on because of my passenger seat

I have the same issue, the dealer told me they can just change the sensor. However, he also told me the sensor is only for the airbag, that the seatbelt will work without it. So, if you are ok not having a working airbag, and willing to just trust the s/b then there is no need to fix it.
Anyone know how to turn the light off?

Is there a reset button or battery disconnect after airbags are deployed?

If your secondary restraint system (SRS) is disabled, you will need to reset your airbag module before the light can turn off, indicating the airbags are working properly. A scanner tool can be used to indicate the issue causing your airbag system to malfunction, and clear crash codes and hard data from the airbag computer system. After the airbag module is repaired and reinstalled, many vehicles will sense that there is no longer an issue, and the light will go off.

I disconnected the wires under seat to remove seat when replacing air blower , now my airbag light is on , how do I reset it

It should reset automatically if the plugs were reconnected properly
When I took the seats out on mine and put them back in the airbag fault light came on because the steering wheel airbag went faulty
So one of the other airbags or seatbelt tensioners is showing a fault only way to find out which is to get the fault codes read to find what it is that's unhappy

So it could be one of the other bags has had ahissy fit so get the fault codes read to find which one is faulty or poorly connected

How do I fix the Airbag light?

Have your local garage scan for codes and diagnose the problem. Quite often the airbag light comes on because of a malfunction in one of your seat belt buckles.

Chevrolet silverado 2004 airbag sensors reset

The airbag in your vehicle is an important safety device, and the airbag module ensures the proper functioning of your vehicle's air bag. If this module is not functioning properly, your airbag may not deploy during a crash. When there is a malfunction, your airbag module warning light will illuminate on your vehicle's dash. You will need to have the airbag assembly checked out by a qualified mechanic, but once that is done, you can reset the warning light and airbag module unit. If you've never done this type of job before, it should only take you 5 minutes.
    • 1 Open the hood and loosen the retaining nut on the negative cable wire cable clamp using a socket wrench.
    • 2 Slide the cable clamp off the negative battery terminal.
    • 3 Wait 3 to 5 seconds and reconnect the battery terminal. Tighten the retaining nut using a socket wrench. Once the power is restored, the airbag module should be reset.
    • 4 Verify that the module has been reset by turning the ignition key to the "II" position and checking to make sure that the airbag light does not illuminate.

2004 Avalanche "Service Air Bag

First, please review this article: Where's The Fuse?

I seriously doubt that your problem is being caused by a fuse. Your Passive Restraint System has a problem. This could be caused by a driver's airbag, a passenger airbag, a seat belt pre-tensioner, a contact assembly in the steering column, or any of the crash sensors. To find out what the problem is, you must scan your Passive Restraint (or Airbag) module to retrieve fault codes. The only thing I can tell you for sure without properly diagnosing your vehicle is that your airbag system will not function in the event of a crash. The system is designed to disable itself any time the warning light is illuminated. This is to prevent accidental deployment of the airbags due to a malfunction in the system.

The symbol is a person in a front seat with a large red ball in their lap

That would be your airbag light. Have the vehicle checked out if that light stays on since the airbag system has a malfunction somewhere within.

Why is the airbag light blinking in my 2003 Altima?

The airbag light will "light" when there is a malfunction in the airbag system. The fault is present in the air bag controller. The computer must be scanned to retrieve these stored faults to pinpoint the malfunctioning component. Your airbag system is not functioning. I strongly suggest taking it in to get tested!
