Remove the hose from bottom of tank, steal your wifes hair blow dryer and melt the ice that way. If you can remove the tank easily place it in a sink full of hot water at that will melt it. They make special additives for windshield washers, but regular rubbing alchohol will work. No matter what you use rub some of it on a small area of your car to make sure it will not damage the paint. Hope this helps

Windscreen washer not working

Most likely the pump (motor) is gone and needs replacement. However, it is worth checking that fuse allocated to windscreen washer is intact. Furthermore, you may also need to check the wiring for flow of current at lever end (handle on the steering wheel) and wires connecting to pump on the water reservoir.

Frozen winshield washer lines

Find a heated garage, you need to thaw out he lines, or use a hair dryer if you can follow the line path. When working, drain all the fluid by holding down the spray button on the car. Go and buy he heavy duty washer fluid with the lowest freezing point you can buy and refill your washer reservoir with it. Don't add any water Most likely you had water in the reservoir and it froze.

Find windscreen washer pump on 1999 ford fiesta

The washer pump is usually mounted on the reservoir or very close to it, that type of pump does not **** very well so it needs a head of fluid to be able to pump.

Windscreen washer pump is frozen, cannot locate it to defrost, Also is there a winter setting on the engine?

If the washer reservoir is frozen, it must have been filled with plain water. It should be filled with washer fluid. Washer fluid contains alcohol to prevent freeze up. To locate the washer reservoir, look for the filler cap, it will say washer fluid on the cap.

Ford Focus 56 plate windscreen washers Water only just coming out of front, and nothing from rear. The reservoir was allowed to run dry, which according to the manual, should not be allowed to...

Sounds like you have a failed one way valve it's built inline with the washer pipe. It stops water from flowing back so it doesn't take ages for the washers to work. There is two of these behind the drivers wheel arch liner and one on the osr of vehicle trace the pipe bk to fine the valve. Remove valve and fit a piece of pipe on it's place job done!

1999 ford focus estate diesel.Windscreen washer bottle has black mildew in it.how do i get it out as it blocks the washer jets.

Remove the windshield washer reservoir and give it a good cleaning with a mixture of 1 part bleach and 3 parts water. You may be able to clean it without removing the reservoir by flushing it throughly and the cleaning it while still on the vehicle with the bleach mix. After it is throughly cleaned put a bleach mix in the reservoir and disconnect the hoses from the spray nozzles and run the washer until the hoses are clean. Use a needle to clean out the nozzles, and the connect the hoses and run the washer until the nozzles are clear. Remove the bleach mix and then fill the reservoir with a commercial windshield washer fluid. I recommend Rain X.

Windscreen washers

Fords have a common problem with their washer pumps. for the last 12 years ford have fitted a plastic mesh over the inlet to the washer pump, this blocks up with the build up of crystalized washer fluid. fords official protocol says to use a small sharp object the size of a pencil to peirce the mesh and allow the flow of water. Also most washer bottles can be accessed via the front wheel arch. simple undo the fixings and pull the innier plastic wheelarch out the way and pull the pump out of the bottle. they are never fixed in just wedged in.
