2001 Chevy Malibu, Need headlights to go back to -auto-

Hi, let someone use my car, i think they turned my headlights on manually. Which is fine, but i have a switch for auto, so they turn off and on on their own.
I turn it to auto, but it doesn't go on by itself.
Can anyone tell me how to get it back to normal.
Not that im lazy, its just i keep forgetting to turn my lights off, because im so use to it being on auto.

SOURCE: 2001 chevy malibu- when car starts cooling fans do not come on but then do

your coolant temp sensor on the engine block is probably faulty, however, keep in mind that if it really isn't all that hot outside they may not need to turn on. Once you activate the A/C the fans come on automatically since they have to cool the condensor...

If your car is not overheating do not worry about it.

SOURCE: How to Recharge A/C on a 2001 Chevy Malibu

Go to the low pressure ac line under the hood, that is the larger of the two lines from the ac compressor, follow the line, the charging port is near where the line goes inside the car, it will have a cap over the port, remember to reinstall that cap after charging.

SOURCE: how to replace headlight bulbs 1999 chevy malibu

Thanks Pierre!

Merci beaucoup!

Everything worked as mentionned. Be carefull with the plastic in the winter. Make sure to use a flat screw driver and get it close to the slider and not on the edge. I cracked one of the tongues. Those L shaped slots are under the plastic cover with the two big plastic plugs that you also remove with the flat screw driver

Crankshaft Pulley 2001 Chevy Malibu coming out. Through Belt how do I get it back aligned?

Hi Crystal,
You will need to know if the crank shaft pulley is coming apart or missing the lock down nut. The ring on the outer edge of the pulley is held in place by molded rubber, I would think this will be your problem.

Right headlight is dim , even when i turn the brights on, but the blinker works, left side headlight all works good.on a 2001 chevy malibu

You may have a loose or corroded headlight ground to the body, the ground wires are in most GM attached to the body near the headlight under the hood. Check all the grounds you can see on the inside of the fender, tighten and clean the with a wire brush, also check the headlight connector for problems like corrosion or not fully seated to the headlight bulb.

How too replace a headlight blub on a 2001 chevy malibu

You should be able to see the connector behind the headlight with the hood up. You will need to twist the connector about a quarter turn until it loosens. Take your old bulb out and when you replace it with the new bulb, be sure and not to touch the glass part of the bulb. This will severely decrease the bulbs life expectancy. Replace the connector and twist it until it locks into place. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Chevy malibu 2001 - Would like lights to go back to -auto-

OK, I would start by checking the fuses, this could explain the scenerio. You have two fuse panels, one under the hood and one on the drivers side near the door henge. If this is not the fix then you must disasemble the blinker auto handle and check the wiring.
