Poor mechanical transmission or engine acceleration rough

1997 oldsmobile aurora replacement engine doesn't have smooth acceleration from 0mph to 15mph sounds rough at first then drives smooth Rough acceleration only from )-15, them my car rides smooth until I stop again.

Not an engine problem, it sounds like I'm driving on a grated bridge. Progressive especially when turning right.

Check engine for good tune up, may those spark plugs are fouled out beyond belief, its always best when changing motors to use known good parts....

Hi, Check for any Vacuum leaks. This can cause for engine to idle high or even rough. One other thing is a bad idol air control. Hope that helps. Go to your mechanic and have him do a computer code check.

Hello: If this a 4.0 liter V/8 then to remove the oil pan you have to either remove the transmission or pull the engine to remove the oil pan.

95 aurora idles rough; runs somewhat smoother as it warms up; yet it backfires if I attempt to accelerate entering expressways. it drives smooth if not accelerating.

We had a similar problem. There was a crack in the air intake plenum gasket. Spraying carb cleaner around it can tell if that's the problem. It will clear up for a few seconds if it is. Not too bad to replace.

Poor fuel mileage; sluggish possible mis fire idle has very low rpms no indication of check engine light at higher speeds freeway speeds runs good but poor fuel economy wheres the power?

Could be a lot of things, but if you have not replaced the air intake plenum gasket, this could be causing some of the issue. Spraying corborator cleaner around the gasket with the engine running should cause the engine to smooth out for a short period of time - just a diagnostic.

I would check the fuel pressure and replace the fuel filter, if it hasn't been done for a while, also check the air filter.
