2004 Lincoln Navigator. No brake or # 3 brake lights all of the others do. Fuses are okay, the brake switch is okay.

How do you know the brake light switch is ok ? Did you check (with a voltmeter) battery voltage at the switch.

    • Brake pedal position (BPP) switch
    • Multifunction switch
    • CJB fuse 2 (20A)
    • Circuitry
    • Stoplamp bulbs
  1. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  1. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the Symptom Chart.

04 navigator has no brake light

First, check the bulb if they are busted. Next is to check the fuse box and locate fuse for either stop lamp, brake light or other label that pertain to stop lamp, they may be busted too. Then, check also the wire connected on the brake light switch. It could be worn out already.

Check the solenoid mechanism on the shifter to check that it is disengaging the shift lock mechanism when the brake switch and ignition are on.

does the 3rd brake light in the back window work? check fuses if fuses are OK and the hazard lights work, then the turn signal switch may be bad. I dont know what your sons suburban (trailer?)has to do with your navigator?

My 2003 aviator gear is locked in park and will not move

check to see if your brake lights work. No? check your brake light fuse. OK? change your brake light switch. Your brake light switch powers the brake / shifter interlock. There is usually a way to bypass the interlock- check your owners manual for bypass button location ( its usually next to the shifter)
