I have a 1994 Toyota Previa Alltrac, LE, non SC. Ive gotten the AC compressor, condenser, drier, both expansion valves, and some lines replaced. Now the problem is that the new compressor will not turn on, but when the AC button is pressed it lights up. The relay seems to be fine. The air intake in the mid of the open hood has 3 wires that go thru it; one going to compressor, one to the pressure switch I believe on the ac line then another that doesnt plug into anything. Could that be the prob? The guy who worked on it said he unplugged the compressor from the van and ran power directly to the compressor and it worked. I don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated.
You may need to try to find a used shop manual for this repair.
The DIY books don't show wiring diagrams for the a/c system.

If the horn works with direct connection, and fuse, relay, and circuit breaker are all good, it's the switch in the steering wheel. If it is anything like the chrysler auto's, the switch and the air bag module is all one unit, can't replace just the switch, the whole thing, and it's about $700 to $800 for those units, at least it is here, and can only get them at a dealer.

See that your AC condenser is not dirt blocked too.

Did you put freon in it? If you changed the compressor, you lost compression. A certified mechanic can do this. No one else.

It is attached to the back wall of evaporator. You have to remove the glove compartment, blower unit and evaporator to get access to the expansion valve.
