You DO NOT DROP THE GAS TANK and SHOULD NOT DO THIS at all. Access to the fuel pump is in the cargo area of the inside of the van located on the floor in front of the second row of seats. DO NOT DROP THE GAS TANK - this is totally unnecessary and hazardous, not to mention very difficult. The fuel pump is a small plastic tank assembly and the top section of it clips into the top opening of the gas tank and this opening is accessible from the small cover in the cargo area in front of the second seat. The earlier years Kia Sedona the same cover is screwed with six small screws instead of 4 clips into the top of the gas tank.

The fuel pump is in the gas tank and access in inside the van between the first row and second row of seats. The access is covered with a carpeted cover and then another metal cover which screws into the gas tank. Then there is a cover top of the assembly.

You must use a brush and clean off all the areas before removing the pump or the dirt will get into the gas tank. Disconnect three electrical connectors and two fuel lines. Mark the fuel lines so you are not confused to put in the new one. The electrical conectoers are individually different from each other.

2005's do not screw into the tank, they have clips. The clips have tabs imbedded into the top so you know where they are located to disengage them.

The tank lifts out and the float mechanism requires you to live it up and then tilt and shift it to get the float mechanism clear of the gas tank hole.

SOURCE: Fuel filter replacement

I supose that the lines could be left on, however they will really get in your way when working. If they require a "tool" to remove them, get one. Make sure that the tank is near empty before taking it down... gasoline weighs about 7.5lbs per gallon. It can be very heavy!!!

SOURCE: need to replace water pump in2005 kia sedona

The kia sedona water pump is an internal pump and needs to be replaced with timing belt service. if it is leaking, then you need to change the timing belt as well. probably not something you want to do in the back yard and will run you between 400 and 600 depending on your location and shop.

2005 Kia Sedona 2EX 3.5. Where is the fuel control module please?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to sub category.

P0304 is only a misfire error to cylinder 4.

https://www.700r4transmissionhq.com/p0304-kia-sedona/

There isn't a 'fuel control module'.

https://www.google.com/search?q=2005+Kia+Sedona+2EX+3.5+Fuel+control+module

But there is a fuel pressure regulator

https://www.google.com/search?q=2005+kia+sedona+fuel+pressure+regulator+location

When you look up fuel 'module', you come back to the fuel pump.

https://www.google.com/search?q=2005+kia+sedona+fuel+module+location

One thing you might try is moving coil pack 4 to another cylinder and see if the code moves. After that do a plug swap and see if it moves. Do them separately not coil and plug together..

Fuel pump/ relay/ wiring issues

They used the jumper wire to make sure that the fuel pump was running. For engine to run you need compression, air, fuel ,ignition.

Your problem lies with either fuel or ignition, and if you dealer cannot fix but continue to charge you, I would suggest you go elsewhere.
