My Volvo develops a judder at about 60 mph which can be felt in the pedals and vibrates the gear stick. Feels like its coming from the front near side wheel. Car has 120,000 on the clock, new tyres and brake pads and discs all round. Braking at speed feels very unstable and makes the steering wheel shake. Any suggestions please!

with the car parked, rub your hand over the treads of your tire...unusually bumpy? compare to the fronts... if a tire is out of balance, esp. in the rear, it can make alot of noise...
solution is to replace tire and rebalance

have someone take a look at the wheel bearings and tyrod ends, i know these will cause that, you may need these parts or you may be just lucky and a need a wheel balance and alignment, any general repair garage can take care of these problems

does it have abs if so if you brake hard it will shudder its normal if no abs then front disc rotors may need to be ground

if the brake discs is fine as you've said, it could be two things your discs needs cleaning and refacing to clean and smoothen the surface and second your parking brake shoe needs to be checked, cleaned or adjusted since the wheel had seized on hand brake have it inspected to know the real problem....
