Does a brand new 1989 ford ranger clutch slave come with brake fluid already in it, or do I need to fill it. If I need to fill it, how do I go about it.
What worked for me when I changed mine on a 88 Ranger: I installed the slave cylinder, hooked up the line, opened the bleeder screw, and filled the resevoir to the top. Then once I had fluid coming out, I closed the bleeder and tried bleeding it like you would brakes. This DID NOT work! I read somewhere to push the pedal to the floor, then 'side step' the pedal. Basically side your foot off the pedal and let it slam up. After about 2 hours trying it the other way, I did this about 15 times and it worked great!

No it doesn't come filled basically you bleed it like a brake system. Fill the master cylinder and pump the clutch, there is a bleeder on the slave cylinder
