2000 Acura TL Seat Heater does not work? any suggestions?

I am the second owner of the car (55,000 miles when I purchased it) and since I have owned it the seat heater has never worked. I bought the car in the summer so I never thought to ask if it functioned. I am not sure where to begin looking for the problem....any suggestions? anyone else solved this problem? if so how?

I have the same problem on my 2001. The heated seat the only thing that has broken on the car in 108,000 miles, by the way.

2000 tl acura car seat not warming

This is a common problem. Usually HALF of the seat stops warming, either the back or bottom.
There are two flimsy wires deep inside the seat that connect the upper and lower parts of the seat.
Typically it either requires many hours of work on your own, disassembling the seat and removing
it and soldering a patch.... or getting a new seat for $$$$ at the dealer. Unfortunately there is no
simple or cheap solution. Search for this problem at www.acurazine.com and you'll see a step
by step of how to fix it (big project) if you want to tackle it. Take care!

You definitly have a timing problem. I dont think its a fuel problem due to the age of your car. Its about past due for a timing belt/chain replacement.

Mileage for next scheduled maintenance 2003 Acura 3.2 TL

id say that when the car hits around 55,000 miles giving it around 10,000 to use the oil to the fullest also change the filters, sparkplugs and wires, and add some kind of gas tank cleaner to keep the car running strong :)

Seat heater stuck on, Acura TL

Check your fusebox for the fuse and remove the fuse, this will turn off the seat heater.
There are two fuse boxes, one under the dash and one in the engine bay.
Your seat heater is designed to run continuously so is most likely safe th drive the 10 miles to your dealer.

I just bought a 2004 Acura TL. Regular gas use?

Some cars actually require higher octane, if the manufacturer suggest higher octane for maximum effenciency your best advised to do so.

Drivers seat heater, sideview mirror switch

The wires in the seat heater will burn out if they are left on HI for too long. You can take the seat out of the car, remove the seat covering, and solder some new wires in place of the fried ones. Then put it all back together and hope you don't get a shock in your **** when you flip the switch for the first time. I just did this to my 2000 TL today and it took about 3 hrs to get it all worked out. For step by step instructions go to: http://joshsworld.com/cars/acura-tl-seat-heater-fix/
