Remote starter does not work but will unlock and lock the doors. the remote also works for the trunk. the head lights flash after pressing the remote start button but does not start the car. thanks for your help
I have a 2003 sierra and my remote starter would not work, it would lock and unlock only, checked out this site found the solution, tried it and in two seconds i solved the problem, Just press the lock button and the start button and viola it works again, thanks for all your help , GGGreat site glad i found it John
You need to first press the LOCK button and then immediately hold down the START button for 2 seconds - voila!
If your vehicle has a check engine light on, the remote start will not work. I also have a g6 so I know this to be true.

depending on your alarm which it sounds like a viper model maybe? on my 02 you have to incorporate a factory alarm bypass module in order to be able to start the truck, they run about 100.00 bucks and have to be profssionally installed. The truck wont start because the computer isnt recieving the proper starting sequence due to the factory alarm

My wifes remote start does not work either. It all started just the other morning when she accidentially pushed the panic button... we just thought that had something to do with it not working that morning. Then this morning I tried to start it, I did everything right and it would not start. The remote works for everything else and the lights to flash as if it is going to turn on, but it never starts.
