Have you checked to see if your inertia switch needs reset? its located in the back of the vehicle and shuts off the fuel pump when in an accident or roll-over... i have found some that set over nothing. just push down on the red button and it will reset. hope this helps...

SOURCE: rear, fuel pump failed, so i switched to the front

sounds like a bad ground or short to the signal wire what you can do is trace the wires from the tank to the bulk head connector to check for brakes in the wire but first do a ohm test on the three wires with the key off there is resistance between the wire you have a short if not check for brake or corroded connections

SOURCE: no power at fuel pump or crash switch

OK, you may have a dedicated pump for each tank, if so; DOES THE OTHER TANK WORK? If so, you have a problem with the switching system or second tank pump. You may have been testing the electrical, but remember: even a pump that works does not pump gas of there is a broken rubber feeder hose inside the tank. I would consider dropping the tank taht does not work and checking the pump and filter inside. Make sure key is on and test (usually the gray wire). Good luck.

SOURCE: 91 ford ranger...fuel pump will not run pump is good

It won't hurt to jump sire to drive, It is designed to pump all time when the engine is running. The only problem is the pump should not be on if engine is not running since it is designed that way to prevent a fire while pump continues on once engine is stops in a car accident. There is a control device to immobilize the fuel pump, if there is no speed sensor signal from the crankshaft. This needs to be located and fixed.

SOURCE: 1997 Ford F150 Electric Fuel Pump will npt pump

Did you check the fuel inertia switch in the passenger side kick panel ?

The fuel pump is powered :
the fuse to the fuel pump relay.
The fuel pump relay to the fuel inertia switch
The fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump itself.

At the fuel inertia switch in the kick panel, power from the relay is the Dark Green w/ Yellow stripe wire and the pink w/ black stripe wire is the power. from the fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump.

If you jumper the fuel pump relay, you should hear it run. If not pull the fuel pump relay, and check the pins in the relay socket, pin 30 should be the power from the fuse.

If you have power at pin #30, jumper the relay socket as shown with the red line above, and check the dark green w/ yellow stripe wire at the fuel inertia switch for power.
Press the button on the top of the fuel inertia switch, and check for power leaving the fuel inertia switch on the pink w/ black stripe wire.

This is tests good, check for power at the fuel pump, same pink w/ black stripe wire.
Fuel inertia switch info is in the owners manual, If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :

I have an f-150 eddie bauer. The front fuel tank doesnt work. When i fill up the back tank the fuel in the back tank some how goes into the front. Do i need to drop the front tank inorder to fix it.

There was a recall for this problem if I remember correctly, they had the techs install check valves in the fuel lines from the back tank and the reserve tank.

Fuel pump not running on 1995 F150 Ford Fuses good Swapped relay Twin tanks

if neither tank is working check the selector switch it is responsible for energizing both fuel pumps depending on the selection, if you have power to switch and power leaving switch than either its lost on the way to the fuel pump or the pump is bad in this case both?to confirm you must check for power at the pump, easiest is the front tank.

When I switch from my front fuel tank to my rear tank gas stops

There is no selector valve on a 1995 ford f150 300 engine. The selector switch on the dash sends power to the pump in the selected tank. The pump then sends fuel to the engine. If engine won't run on the selected switch, the pump in that tank needs replaced.

1995 ford f150 fuel pump

Your truck is fuel injected. On the fuel delivery rail in the engine compartment there is a cap you can take off to check for fuel pressure. Hook a mechanical gage to it and check to make sure the fuel pump is working. Also if you have a dash switch to change over to the different tanks check it. Often these switches become bad and the fuel will not flow. The switches are about $ 40.00 dollars. To replace the fuel pumps you must drop the fuel tanks and remove each fuel pump from the tank. The cost for the pumps alone will be about $300.00 to $ 500.00 depending on who you purchase them from. The universals are cheaper, but the Ford pumps are an exact match and you can change them with out any problems.
