You will need to buy the no a/c belt most likely. Check the diagram in the engine compartment.

How to add freon to a 2009 dodge journey

You need 22oz for a "front only" a/c system and 32oz of R-134a refrigerant for "front and rear" a/c system.

The compressor is off likely due to insufficient refrigerant charge in the system. Once the minimum required charge has be provided, the compressor clutch should engage (check for blown fuse if it does not). Refrigerant is added only to the low or suction side of the compressor and only as a gas. Do not invert the refrigerant tank in an attempt to add refrigerant as a liquid! Placing the tank in warm water is a better way to fill the system (raises the pressure in the tank) without concern for slugging the compressor.

How do i engage the ac compressor clutch to charge the ac system

Turn the interior fan to lowest speed, and depress the airconditioning button.
You don't actually need the engine running to charge the system.

Car airconditioning blowing fuses

is your blower motor running what amp fuse are you using check for a wire shorted at the compressor by the clutch this is the part mounted on the compressor that engages it the compressor could be bad causing the clutch to overload creating a short unplug the connection to the clutch and see if the fuse still blows this would confirm if its a wire or the compressor

Ac compressor not engaging it is a new compressor and clutch and we just had it charged

Double check that the charge was enough. There is a pressure switch on the refrigerant line that is inline with the wire that powers the clutch for your compressor. You can check it with an ohm meter. Disconnect the two wires and check. If the system is charged properly, there should be full continuity across the pressure switch. You can check the clutch at the same point. Take the wire that goes from the switch to the clutch and supply battery power to it. It should click positively.

No power going into clutch airconditioning unit how do I find the problem?

Hello snake
The first place to check is the low pressure cutoff switch, on the a/c
acumulator at the right side firewall. With the engine off and the key on
turn on the a/c to low. Remove the plug from cutoff sw, use a jumper wire to make a connection of the terminals in the plug. If the comp clutch engages, the system needs to be charged(most common) or the
cutoff switch is bad. If the compressor clutch won't engage when jumped you can post again or give us a call and we'll dig deeper into the
system. But I hope this helps. Good luck.

Airconditioning Problem - 1996 Cadillac Brougham

Can be a few things.First is the system charged? If so,try powering up compressor with a jumper to verify that it works and clutch engages. Then try using a jumper on the binary switch plug, if system runs replace binary switch.Remember the system has to have enough pressure to run correctly.Hope this helps.

The climate control screen does not work, when i turn on my heat on, gas level goes down to empty

I assume you mean the car burns more gas when you turn on the heat. The climate control panel also controls the air conditioning system. When the air conditioner is turned on it activates the belt driven compressor thru electrical relays and clutch system. The clutch is located on the compressor pulley, its the secondary outer most ring. The cars engine has to work harder because of the extra load on the engine when this clutch engages. This causes the car to have a higher demand for fuel. The malfunctioning control panel could be activating the airconditioning system unknowingly to yourself. Replace the control panel first, if that doesn't solve the problem check the compressor clutch to see if its engaging with the aircondition system turned to off. If thats the case, check for a stuck system relay.

The Aircondition switch does not stay on. On my 1989 BMW 325i.

have the a/c system checked for proper refrigerant charge as this sytem relys on charge sensors. If the charge is low, compressor will not stay engaged and switch will not stay on.
