Recently one was sold on ebay for $200. It is classed as a vintage now. Probably worth more to a collector than just a casual buyer.

SOURCE: 2001 Audi S4 ABS engagement, electronic buzz and shudder

Your car, like mine, has suffered the usual ABS pump electronics failure.

I have an almost identical car.

There are some great threads on the net on repairing them, however the wires inside it are just shockingly small, hair sized, and not a job for even the best "DIY" solderer.

Replace the electronics module on the side of the ABS pump, it doesn't need the brake pipes loosening or anything. It is easy to swap.

Then your ABS will work as it should.

You will NEED to find a used unit, or have yours repaired though, new ones are rediculously expensive.

Great Car though.

SOURCE: I?d really appreciate if someone would take the

Battery life and performance - Average battery life has become shorter as energy requirements have increased. Two phrases I hear most often are "my battery won't take a charge, and my battery won't hold a charge". Only 30% of batteries sold today reach the 48-month mark. In fact 80% of all battery failure is related to sulfation build-up. This build up occurs when the sulfur molecules in the electrolyte (battery acid) become so deeply discharged that they begin to coat the battery's lead plates. Before long the plates become so coated that the battery dies. The causes of sulfation are numerous. Let me list some for you.

  • Batteries sit too long between charges. As little as 24 hours in hot weather and several days in cooler weather.
  • Battery is stored without some type of energy input.
  • "Deep cycling" an engine starting battery. Remember these batteries can't stand deep discharge.
  • Undercharging of a battery to only 90% of capacity will allow sulfation of the battery using the 10% of battery chemistry not reactivated by the incompleted charging cycle.
  • Heat of 100 plus F., increases internal discharge. As temperatures increase so does internal discharge. A new fully charged battery left sitting 24 hours a day at 110 degrees F for 30 days would most likely not start an engine.
  • Low electrolyte level - battery plates exposed to air will immediately sulfate.
  • Incorrect charging levels and settings. Most cheap battery chargers can do more harm than good. See the section on battery charging.
  • Cold weather is also hard on the battery. The chemistry does not make the same amount of energy as a warm battery. A deeply discharged battery can freeze solid in sub zero weather.
  • Parasitic drain is a load put on a battery with the key off. More info on parasitic drain will follow in this document.
Making another post because there will be too much on one post.....

SOURCE: I am considering buying a local 1998 crv 4x4,

Sounds reasonable to me.... If fuel injected, you can expect reasonable longevity from the engine.

SOURCE: hello, I have a 1986

If you mean it is going dead while sitting you might have a short or another issue drawing power from the battery. take your truck to your local battery warehouse/store the should have a meter thet will tell you if something is drawing on your system. It could be something simple, like maybe the mercury switch on your under hood light is bad and the light is not turning off thus running your battery dead over night.

SOURCE: local dealer will only give

Sell it outright, you'll get more, and screw them both. If they don't need your used car on their lot, they just take it off your hands, and adjust their prices. Just for fun, wait a few weeks, shop for the same ride, and see what the price is without a trade. This will let you know what they were really offering you. My best bet, is thet they offered you close to nothing. Please let me know! Good luck!

2001 Isuzu Rodeo 4 cylinder Check Engine Light

Normally a shop would use a scanner to watch the operation of the EGR valve and sensor.
Code 401 means the sensor is telling the computer the flow is not enough. So the problem could be the sensor rather than the EGR valve. And yes one of the ports could be blocked too.

My check engine light comes on then it start to blink once I start driving, 1997 town car. 4.6

You need to have the car scanned. It is a free service at Autozone,Advance, or Oreilys autoparts. Then the clerk can tell you some of the possible parts you need. If you get the Code numbers, we can tell you what the onboard computer is telling you.

Be careful if it is a Code 401, for that engine the scan can be wrong. If 401 comes up, it can be a clogged EGR port in the Intake manifold.

Hi there i have 1997 Avalon V6 . the check engine light up # 138 and 401 so can you tell me the name of that two please thnks

Trouble codes are normaly 4 digits with a "P" or "B" before it. I am gonna assume that you meant P0138 and P0401:
P0138 is Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 2)
P0401 is Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected

A code P0138 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty O2 sensor
  • Short to battery voltage in O2 sensor signal circuit
  • High fuel pressure (not as likely)
Possible Solutions Here are some potential solutions:
  • Replace O2 sensor
  • Repair short to battery voltage in o2 sensor signal circuit
for info on the P0401:

As it's a brand new vehicle, it will be covered under the Manufacturer's Warranty. Call the Garage that you bought the vehicle at and tell them to come and pick it up and have the fault fixed under warranty. PLEASE DO NOT try to fix anything yourself and do not let anyone else other than the Manufacturer's representatives work on the vehicle otherwise the Manufacturer may void the Warranty.
