Have a diagnostic done by a Renault dealer because it could be egr valve or electrical as an electric fault with turbo charging system will inhibit the turbo charging function

SOURCE: I have a vw caddy tdi diesel van blowing smoke

a couple of things it could be , 1 it might be leaking valve guides+seals if they are leaking the oil drips on the pistons and when started it smokes for a while but eventually clears. 2 piston rings, if the bore is scored or you have a broken piston ring this will cause it to smoke, when engine gets to presure and the oil is thin due to being warn it can seep past either the broken ring or through the score on the bore, you can get it presure checked for that one to see if its 2. 3, being a diesel if the timing is slightly out this would cause smoke and it would be getting to much fuel in the pots to burn and you get a build up of fule that does not burn correctly, but you get other problems with that one, slow acceleration, jerkiness, that sort of thing....anyway hope that helps

SOURCE: exhaust blowing white grey smoke lots of it and

The white/grey smoke is steam (water). (from the cooling system)The engine has either blown a head gasket or there is a crack on the engine block.

Stop as soon as safely practical at home or wherever you will work on it.
Before you spend lots of money, try an engine block sealer, less than $15. Bar's Block Seal, for example. Read and follow directions carefully. You may need to apply twice. May also last for a couple of months or several years.

Otherwise, replace head gasket on affected side and/or replace engine (block).

My Renault Grand Scenic a 16Deisel manual transmission brings out white smoke when I travel on low gear for long and also on a hill also when aircondition is turned and engine now goes off and jerks

The colour smoke an engine produces gives a good idea of the fault: -
Black/dark grey smoke is partially burned fuel caused by the right amount of fuel being injected badly or by a small excess of fuel.

Blue/blue-grey smoke is burning engine oil.

White smoke is either steam (usually from coolant ingress) or massive amounts of unburned fuel. A few possible causes of the latter is strangled exhaust, one or more injectors stuck open or a damaged injector (broken nozzle).

If there is no coolant loss I suggest you remove the fuel injectors for testing.

I have a 2002 Renault Kangoo van 665d 1.9 diesel. Where is the oil cooler located and what does it look like?

If you find your oil filter, you fill find the oil cooler. It is the little box that the oil filter screws into. You will see two coolant hoses going to it as well.

Renault kangoo 03 1.5 diesal throwing lots of black smoke out

Burning to much fuel. You can do a cylinder contribution test(takes a scanner) And see which cylinder/s are lagging. Then go after the injectors. One or more could be stuck open, pouring fuel into the cylinder.

Where is the fuel cut off switch on a renault.kangoo van 1.5 diesel

A lot of Renaults have a red connector in the engine bay with a 3 prong solenoid. It is hard to determine where yours is considering the lack of year. Renaults do have a cut off solenoid as do many vehicles.

Pete, if you get no code from a reader, it only means it is a physical problem and not in the system. You could possibly just have a dirty connection at one or all glow plugs power wires. This wouldn't change the mpg at all. The EGR, if faulty diaphragm, would cause a loss of power, but that's mainly on a gasoline engine. Not sure on diesel unless the EGR is in the center of the air inlet of manifold. I removed my intake on my old Chevy 6.2 diesel and replaced it with an open one from a higher performance 6.2 and it gave it much more power because now there's no air restriction because no EGR is in the intake. This stopped the excessive smoke from exhaust also. That's just MY experience, and I just LOVE diesel.

Kangoo 1.5 diesel van wont start.

Just had exactly the same problem with my Kangoo, the bolt had come loose on the bottom crank pulley and the alternator belt came off, unfortunately, as I have found out, this allows the cam belt pulley to move on the shaft and the timing will have slipped and this almost certainly causes damage to valves, pistons etc. I'm just about to strip mine down to find the damage.
Not good news but hope it helps to find the problem.
Fraser.

Engine oil smoke blowing from exhaust. Renault Laguna Diesel.121,000 mileage.

first thing to check is oil level. some diesels will use some oil. if this is real heavy soot and moisture, it could be the fuel distributor/pump going out. how does it run? if its running poorly, this could be your answer. check the valve adjustment(lash) for proper adjustment also.
