Hello
The engine and transmission in this cars drivetrain is fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s)

It sounds like you have a security problem, I had the same thing it would fire and run for half of a second and then that was it if anything at all. Had the security system rebooted, now it starts and runs fine.

Fuel filter location on an 06 envoy 4.2

The fuel filter on your vehicle is located inside the fuel tank and is part of the fuel pump module. It is, in theory, a lifetime filter and can only be changed by replacing the entire pump module assembly.

I just change my car battery in my gmc 203xl envoy but its running with less power and shake when i slow down what is wrong please can u tell me thanks

Clean your throttle body with throttle body cleaner, must be nice and shiny. Do this with the battery disconnected. When finished, hook the battery back up and drive around for 20 minutes or so, so the computer can relearn the newly cleaned TB. Your computer learned some bad habits with the dirty throttle body, so when you disconnected the battery, it thought the throttle body was clean, therefore, you'll get performance problems. Especially when the defrost or A/C is on.

My 06 Envoy Denali 5.3 was sputtering this morning. Engine light has been on a while. Autozone said it was the petal sensor. We replaced oil sensor several months ago and just replaced spark plugs and...

The guy at autozone should be correct, I'm assuming you mean throttle position sensor. It would not be related to any of the recent repairs that you have completed. Did he mention if it was a dealer only part? If not he should be able to sell you the part. If you have some mechanical skills it is a relatively easy repair on most vehicles.

My "GMC Envoy 2003 XL SLT 4.2 liter 6 cylinder",check engine light came on.every morning i start the car to warm-up and it's o.k. but then when i put it on drive"It starts to shake when i step on the brake...

First thing to do is to clean the throttle body and throttle plate thoroughly. While performing the cleaning, disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes. This will force the PCM to relearn with a clean throttle body. See if this helps with running and the codes. Also make sure the gas cap is tightened properly.

There is a bulletin for this problem. You have to go to the dealership and have the air spring sensor calibrated.Only the dealers can do this calibration. It does not take long to calibrate a vehicle.Unless they find a different problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.
