The rear seat in my 2005 Honda Odyssey is stuck in the collapsed position.
I'm not sure about every other one, but the 2001 Odyssey has a "switch" in the seat so that it can only move one way. If you don't get the seat fully collapsed, it won't let you pull it out. Mine got stuck because I had jumper cables in the "well" and so it wasn't getting all the way collapsed. I "fixed" it by kneeling on the back of the seat and sorta' jumping a little. There was a little click and then the seat released.
This would mean eather the motor is froze up or it needs to be replaced you will need to remove the seat then, the motor, then you can hook back up the motor and see if it works if you get no sign of it working you will need to replace it

Same problem, Honday Odyssey 2001
I was able to fix the problem by opening the back of the seat and removing the excess slack from the cable that controls the lock for the seat.

same problem. rear(third)seat is collapsed and the strap that the manual says I should pull on is not accessible (it was left underneath the seat!) It seems like there should be an easier solution than pulling off the the back of the seat. This idea crossed my mind, but it looked like I would wreck the fabric by doing so. It is such an easy accident, that it seems like Honda should have forseen this and made an easier way out.

same problem on my 2001 Odyssey
wow, same problem with the stuck seat. My husband bounced up and down on it and it loosened it up so it would raise up again. Thanks for the solution!! 2001 odyssey
