The engine dies when the belt breaks.
Can also do major damage to the engine.
Most car brands recommend replacing at 60,00 to 80,000 miles.

How to know if timing belt on volvo t6 needs to be replaced if dealer stamps and bills don't show it. The 105 page was stamped.

The timing belt should have been replaced at the 105K service. Someone should look at the timing belt to determine the condition. However, if you have any doubts, you should replace it to be on the safe side. Also replace the mechanical tensioner.

When do I need to replace the timing belt? My

Hello michele151: My name is Roger and I will answer your question. The manufacturer recommends replacing the belt at 60,000 miles and inspecting the belt at 30,000 miles. This would also be a good time to check the water pump as the timing belt turns it also. I always recommend replacing the timing belt with a timing kit as this way you also have the parts to replace the idler bearings at the same time. these are small bearings that turn a million times and do wear out. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer as this way I know it was of use. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Unknown millage on timing belt 152000

The interval for replacement is 60,000 miles on that model.
If you do not know the last time it was changed, it would be a good idea to do it so you do not risk getting stranded.

The engine is NOT an interference engine, so the engine will not be damaged if the belt breaks; you will just need a tow truck to get it somewhere to install a new belt.
