I just brought this '98 naivagor and the front right break is VERY tight, making the car smoke. when we took the tired off, we see that the old owner already changed the rotor and break pads. when we took the caliber off it was broke, so we replace it, thinking that was the problem. but even with the new caliber the front pads will not release the pressure. we tested the brake line, and that was good, what else could it be?

the first thing to do is to make sure the steering is not binding up,like a balljoint or tierod , un hook the tierods and feel the turn of the wheel at the wheel not the steering wheel, make sure its not thight do the same on the other side, also take a good look at the shaft going to steering gear, ive found that the ujoints rust up and bind, causes wheel not to return, it could also be a leaking rack internally, start there, good luck.

diagnose, brake flex line, remove the front wheel prepare to use a socket to open the bleeder on the caliper assembly. First have a buddy pump the brakes a few times with engine running. have him hold the brakes on,then as soon as he releases the brakes loosen the bleeder. If you see fluid come out in a squirt,it is a sign that the flex hose has colapsed, not letting the piston retract from the disc rotor. And the pressure is not going back to the brake master cylinder. One other problem could be a sticking piston due to corosion under the dust boot, i recomend replaceinfg the caliper assy. if the line checks ok.

sounds like warped rotors have rotors turned/or replaced and put new pads on
