I hear a loud grinding noise when i drive my car

Every time i drive my car i hear what seems like a loud grinding noise that comes from the front wheels. Along with the noise my steering wheel shakes a little from left to right. I noticed that the noise has gradually gotten louder over a period of about 3 months. Also, when i drive strait or make a left turn, the noise is very loud, especially when making the left turn. However when i make a wide right turn, the noise seems to almost completely go away. Any ideas on what can be making this noise?

It's really strange that the noise goes away when you made a wide right turn. My car makes a clicking sound whenever I turn, but when I drive straight, it stops. We might not have the same problem, but I think the fastest way to get it fixed would be to take it to an auto repair service.http://www.adamscollisionservice.com/ser...

Check front tyres & wheel bearings espesially the R/H/F. Feel tyre for high / low spots on inside & jack up & spin wheel if you get noise while jacked up it is not the tyres but wheel bearing or brake pads but more than likly a crook bearing by the sound of it. It needs to be tended to ASAP

if your vehicle is front wheel drive you may have a bad 'constant velocity joint'. These allow your wheels to turn left and right and still provide power to the road. The variation in sounds sugggests it's the left CVJ as momentum will force that joint tighter in a right turn causing the parts of the joint to fit more snugly. While not immediately life threatening, the longer you go before you have it repaired the more damage it is likely to cause. If it breaks completely while you are in traffic, you could very well wind up stuck in the middle of the road.

SOURCE: Grinding noise in the left

grinding on front wheel is caused by 2 things. a bad or loose wheel bearing,or worn out brakes, have them both checked
You might also want to check the level of fluid in the power steering reservoir - low or lack of fluid will also cause a noise (although more of a whining than a grinding).

Can't be 100% sure but if you didn't have this problem before doing the work on the wheel bearing I can only think 1 of two things. When they removed your whhel bearing the sensor ring for the abs got damaged or the abs sensor is damaged or not pressed into place in the knuckle. The front sensors are not screwed on, they just have a little sleeve and at time with the vibrations of doing a wheel bearing they get loose. You most probally won't have an abs fault due to these problems.

Probably so. When making a left hand turn, if the noise gets loader, it is the right side bearing. IE... putting more wieght on that side of the car.

Noise coming from the rear end of my 2004 honda pilot it really only occurs during cold weather and after it warms up you hear it slightly

When does the noise occur, while driving only, or driving and idle, in gear, or in neutral and park? If it occurs all the time (while driving and at a stand still in cold weather) it could be the fuel pump. If it occurs only while driving, it may be a wheel bearing. Describe the noise (humming, grinding, whirring, etc), and what is the mileage on the Pilot? Answer my questions so I can fine tune my answer. Thanks!

Backing up very loud grinding like bearings

I would investigate the transfer case. By your description here it sounds as if the gears inside are worn and the drive chain inside is rubbing, causing the loud noise you hear.
