Should be electric motors behind the back seat or in the side panels.

SOURCE: 1998 Chrysler Sebring JXI Convertible Blower Motor Not Working

Sounds like it in the switch or the electrical plug at the switch. The electrical plug could be burnt and need repairing or replacing. Need to remove the dash fascia, Careful not to damage clips. If the cover has no visible screws or bolts, then it clips into place. Unbolt heater controls and pull contol forward. Not a fun job but with patience you should be ok.

SOURCE: I need to replace an ignition switch on my 1999

This is for the ignition switch like you are asking for:

Ignition Switch REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Cirrus, Stratus, Sebring Convertible and Breeze CAUTION
The Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system must be disarmed before working around the steering column. Failure to do so may cause accidental deployment of the air bags, resulting in unnecessary SIR system repairs and/or personal injury.

  1. Disarm the air bag system, as described in Section 6.
  2. Remove the left end instrument panel cover/fuse panel and remove the retaining screw holding the end of the instrument panel top cover.
  3. Remove the instrument panel center bezel.
  4. Remove the screws that secure the instrument panel top cover to the center of the instrument panel.
  5. Lift the instrument panel top cover enough to gain access to the knee bolster attaching screws.
  6. Remove the lower knee bolster attaching screws and knee bolster from the vehicle.
  7. Remove the lower steering column cover attaching screws. Pull down on the lower cover to clear the ignition key cylinder and key release (if equipped).
  8. Remove the lower steering column cover, sliding the cover forward while holding down the steering wheel tilt lever.
  9. Tilt the steering wheel down to the fully lowered position and remove the upper steering column cover.
  10. Remove the screws that hold the combination switch to the ignition lock housing.
  11. Place the ignition lock cylinder in the RUN position.
  12. Insert a small prying tool into the hole in the lower cover and depress the cylinder release tab.
  13. Remove the ignition lock cylinder from the steering column.
  14. Unfasten the electrical connectors from the switch.
  15. Using a No. 10 Torx® bit, remove the ignition switch mounting screw.
  16. Depress the retaining tabs and remove the switch. To install:
  17. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position. Be sure the actuator shaft in the lock housing is also in the RUN position.
  18. Install the switch, making sure the switch snaps over the retaining tabs.
  19. Install the retaining screw.
  20. Connect the wiring to the ignition switch.
  21. Install the ignition lock cylinder.
  22. Install the 2 combination switch mounting screws.
  23. Install the lower and upper shrouds.
  24. Install the knee bolster to the lower dashboard panel and tighten the lower knee bolster attaching screws.
  25. Install the screws that secure the instrument panel top cover to the center of the instrument panel.
  26. Install the instrument panel center bezel.
  27. Install and tighten the screw holding the end of the instrument panel top cover. Install the left side instrument panel/fuse panel cover.

2008 chrysler seabring convertible top is stuck

The top is operated by a electrically driven hydraulic pump, so more then likely you have a loss of fluid due to a leaking hose or cylinder and this lowers the system pressure and causes the top to stop functioning.

I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring convertible. The top goes down with no problem, when we go to put it back up, theres no sound and we have to manually pull it up while pushing the button.

Hi Dawn, I'm AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair

Dawn, it sounds like you have a problem with the hydraulic motor and pump assembly. With out being able to diagnose the issue its hard to say. But, if you are having too help the motor close the top I'd say it's either low on fluid or the motors getting weak. If you need further assistance go here: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

Back side window of 2006 sebring won't go up how do I fix it?

Try operating the window with both the driver's window switch, and the rear door window switch.

When operating window with rear door window switch help up, bang the door around the mid section and see if this frees the winder motor in that door. If it does, this would indicate a failing motor (replace). If it doesn't then strip door, and check for power to the motor when operating switch. If power is present, then replace the motor.

I put a used sebring 1999 convertable top on my convertable everything is good with the exception that it wont go do i can hear that it wants to work but its not what could the problem be

Yes, without hydraulic fluid, it is not likely to work.

Firstly, a caveat, if you don't know what you are doing, it will be better to get an auto mechanic to do this.

I am also making an assumption, that you haven't a) messed up the electrical switch that operates it, and b) damaged the hydraulic pistons, or the hydraulic hoses in the process. If so, all bets are off, and back to get a mechanic to fix it.

IN that model, the Hydraulic pump, should be located behind the rear seat. The bottom cushion of the rear seat would pop out, there will be clamps at either side of the outer edge of the seat. The rear seat back, can be removed by removing the seat belt plate at the bottom of the seat back, and liftig the seat back straight upwards. There will be a sound barrier flap, and the pump will be behind that. ON the top of the pump, will be a rubber fill plug. remove it, and fill to the bottom of the fill hole.

  1. Rotate and raise the motor/pump assembly so the reservoir is in the up position. The rubber filler plug will be at the top.
  2. Raise the motor and pump fitting to at least 2" above the horizontal rear seat back reinforcement.
  3. Tilt the motor and pump assembly to approximately the 10 o'clock position, with the rubber filler plug still at the top.

CAUTION: The motor and pump assembly must remain in the current position until the rubber filler plug is reinstalled in step 7.

  1. Remove the rubber fill plug from the reservoir.
  2. Fill the hydraulic system by adding Dexron 2 Automatic Transmission Fluid to the bottom of the fill hole.

CAUTION: Do not operate the top switch in the "up", closing the top, direction.

  1. With two people, activate the top switch in the "down" (opening the top) position to fully retract the cylinder rods and hold for approximately 5 seconds, until the motor and pump stalls. A percolating or gurgle sound/feeling is an indication that the procedure is working.
  2. Top off the pump with Dexron III Automatic Transmission fluid and insert the filler plug.
You may need to "bleed" the hydraulics. As I said, this is probably better done as a mechanic job (it may also need two people).

Convertible top will not go up

The problem could be hydraulic or electrical or a mechanical problem with the lift arms. More information is required to solve your problem - like: Can you hear the pump motor running when you press the button? Does the top TRY to lift, but just won't go all the way? Does it try to come up on one side and not the other?

2000 chrysler sebring anti lock system lock up

This problem is caused by a leaking hydraulic pressure valve in the Active ABS system you van is equipped with. The ABS produces its own pressure and can apply the brakes with no brake pedal input from the driver, so the system has pressure always, if the valve that supplies brake pressure doesn't seal the brakes can lock up. You must most likely replace the ABS hydraulic control module under the hood to correct this. They sell them as rebuilt units at parts stores like Napa and Carquest.
