I have a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse gt. Last year, the heater started blowing cold. I can leave it running for quite a while and the defroster never heats up, but as soon as I start driving it warms up. But then as soon as I come to a stop its back to cold.
The heator core has gone out this is a divise that uses hot coolent from the engine to heat the air that blowes tru your vents it is located behind the glove box some times it's tricky to reach look under the hood to find 2 hoses running side by side in to the fire wall on the passenger side to pin point the location

I have the exact same problem. We took it to the repair and were told it was just the way Eclipses are made -- but I can't convince my husband that answer doesn't make sense to me. It didn't always do this. What kind of repair do I ask for at the shop? How much might this cost me?
