2001 Pontiac Bonneville SE, wipers won't go to rest postion.

Windshield wipers work when turned on, but stop in the vertical position when shut off instead of going to the horizontial "at rest position' like they should. Is it in the wiper motor or the switch itself?

The "horizontal park" mechanism is in the actual wiper motor assy.

How to replace a 99 se Bonneville windshield wiper motor

Windshield wiper motors are generally easy to replace. You need to remove the windshield wipers and take off the small grill panel above the hood and under the windshield. You should see the motor in there. It simply unbolts and unplug the electrical connector and replace it with a new one.

How do I reset the home position on the front windshield wipes of a 2002 Pontiac Montana. The bolt holding the transmission came loose and now the park position is out of sink when they are shut off.

remove the bolt and unhock the linkage, next turn on the wipers and then turn the wipers off, this will park the motor , you will then postion wipers in the park postion and put linkage on the motor, this will line the wipers up, good day.

After replacing the wiper motor and linkage bushings on my Grand Voyager SE, the wiper arms stop in the straight up position when ''at rest''. Help please

Remove the arms, and place them back on where they need to go,do not turn the wipers on,do this as they set now.If the wiper blades when turned on go off the left side of the windshield ,then you will have to remove everything again, and move the wipers down in the rest position, and align everything up to the rest position, with the wipers at rest, and the motor at rest.

On my 97 pontiac bonneville my windshield wipers do not go all the way down to where they should rest. i was going to remove them and put them back on at a different position so they would go all the way...

On your wiper switch you have a park position and on your wiper motor the same.It takes a little experience to mess with this problem.
without looking at it I would say your switch is no working allowing the arms to rest in the park position.
