2004 F150- Hazard Flashers dont work, turn signals do work
My drivers mirror was damaged by a side swipe. at the time of the accident, the hazard flashers stopped working.
When I use the turn signals however, they work still. When I release the hazard flashers button, I hear a click, like a relay maybe that has gone out. I have assumed the mirror accident sent some extra electric current through the hazard relay or other, which has caused this problem. I can't find a solution in the manual, and cant afford a dealer tech. Since the turn signals work, do you think a relay or other device being out is causing the hazard flashers not to work?
Re: 2004 F150- Hazard Flashers dont work, turn signals do...
Try replacing the hazard relay it should be under the dash try turning it on and off with your head down by the floorboard to pinpoint the right relay and the location. you should be able to hear it easily. hope this helps.

You probably need a turn signal / hazard flasher module located in the under hood fuse box. These go out all the time .
Turn Signal/Hazard Lamps
The IGN E 10-amp fuse in the underhood fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the turn signal/hazard switch assembly. The FLASH 25-amp fuse in the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the turn signal/flasher module and ground is supplied at G200. When the turn signal switch is placed in either the LEFT or RIGHT position, a voltage signal is completed from the turn signal switch to the turn sign/flasher module. When the hazard flasher switch is activated, a ground signal is completed from the turn signal/hazard switch to the turn sign/flasher module. The turn sign/flasher module then sends an on-off voltage signal through the LT TRLR, RT TRLR, LT TURN or RT TURN 10-amp fuses in the I/P fuse block to the appropriate turn signal or to all 4 fuses for hazard operation. The instrument panel cluster (IPC) indicators receive voltage from the LT TURN and RT TURN fuses as well as the driver door module (DDM)/passenger door module (PDM) for the mirror turn signals. The DDM/PDM has no function or control of the mirror turn signals other that a pass through connection for the circuits. The audio chime is also activated when the turn signals are ON. When the hazard switch is pressed, all turn signal lamps will flash including both IPC turn indicators. The front turn signals are grounded at G100. The rear turn signals are grounded at G401. The Mirror turn signals are grounded by the DDM/PDM.
The flasher looks nothing like the old flashers. It will be located behind the drivers side lower dash (under the steering wheel). It will be a small black box that is about 3 inches wide, 2 inches deep, and 1 inch thick. It may be somewhat difficult to locate because on some of the GM trucks they actually hide it behind the gauges but to the left of the gauges. in the link 1/2 way down shows location and descriptionhttps://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/104429-where-is-the-turnflasher-relay-on-an-03-2500/
The turn signal / hazard flasher module is the problem ,more then likely . Without testing this is just a guess . Do you know how to do automotive electrical circuit testing using a wiring diagram an a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter . Plus factory service repair manual flow charts .

I assume you've checked the Fuses :p Obviously that hasnt worked and the bulbs and lights haven't worked either... SO try this???? Open the driver's side door and
examine the end of the dash for an access panel. Behind the access panel
are fuses and flashers. There are two flashers inside the access panel
for controlling the turn signal and the hazard lights. You can
distinguish them apart from each other by turning on the hazards or the
turn signal and feeling for the clicking. If you turned on the hazards,
then the flasher that is clicking is the hazard flasher. Remove the turn signal flasher
from the dash and reinstall the new flasher into the vacated slot in the
dash. Close the access panel and start thetruck . Check the turn signals for proper operation and make sure the hazards work as well.
The turn signal switch assembly often causes this problem. If the hazard button is on your steering column it is part of the switch assembly and is called a multi-function switch . If it has a separate hazard button on the dash the can also cause the the same thing to happen. Try holding very slight pressure on the hazard button on the dash while the turn signal is on. If it starts working correctly replace only the the hazard switch. It is usually just snapped into the hole in the dash. If the hazard switch is on the column, than you should replace the multi-function switch. If it is equipped with an airbag, be sure the key is off while working on column. The multi-function switch should not require removal of the steering wheel on this car.
when they dont work, turn on the hazard flashers, or grab the hazard button and wiggle it. if they start working you will need the turn signal switch replaced.
you need to replace the flasher unit which is located under the dash on the drivers side. put on the hazard flashers to make locating the unit easier (by sound)
i have a similar problem but my left signal works, when i turn the right on it just does an annoying buzz sound. if you can think of any explination for such shinanogins help would be greatly appreciated
We're is hazard flasher relay or fues,s located on a 2000 sporttrac
need to find hazard rely
can not find flasher rely
