I drove about 16 miles home the other day in very hot weather. As I was pulling up to my destination I started smelling burning plastic, and when I exited the car, I was followed by a plume of white smoke coming from around where my steering column sits. I am not sure exactly what is going on, my boyfriend says maybe a burnt wire, but so far nothing has shorted out. Before he tears apart my entire dash looking for shorts and melted plastic, I would like a second opinion.
