There are normally several shift solinoids 1st 2nd, 3rd 4th. one solinoid operates 2 gears. They are located inside the gearbox, you will need to remove the sump & determine which one you need to replace.

Newbie here! How to install fuel pump on 96 olds regency elite?

You might benefit from the 96 Regency Elite factory service manual purportedly available by a download for $22, if scrolling through pages or using CTRL F to hunt through a PDF is something you are comfortable with. I have no idea if it tells you to check for rust in the fuel tank. https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/281883502-1996-oldsmobile-regency-service-and-repair-manual

The Haynes group is of course more familiar and there seems an aside mention of the 96 being covered in spite of the title. https://haynes.com/en-us/oldsmobile/regency/1997-1998

Regarding videos, I encounter such for the Olds Bravada and the Olds Aurora, both 96 models: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO3QkeMTwP0

Where the relay switch for over drive on the transmission II think thats whats getting stuck or not funtioning right?96 olds regency

Despite the overdrive icon and manufacturers calling it overdrive, there is no overdrive unit on your Oldsmobile. What is mistakenly referred to as an overdrive unit is the lock up torque converter. Over a certain speed (usually about 35 mph), and absent a call for heavy acceleration, the torgue converter is hydraulically locked so that the drive and driven vanes in the converter spin as a single unit. The lock-up is controlled by a solenoid valve in the side pan of the transmission. The most common problem with the solenoids is that they fail to release and keep the converter locked up which stalls the engine at stops. The usual cure is to replace the solonoid

Check the wiring headed intot he transmission, if all good, remove the pan and check the interior,. of all good, then you can bet that you will need to replace the shifting solenoid in the tranny and you'll be good to go...

96 oldsmobile cutlass wont come out of park

Turn off car. Turn key to accessory position and put car in neutral to crank car. Get the shift lok solenoid fixed. If the shifter is in the floor it may have a small cover to remove to get to the shift lock release.

I have a 96 aurora and every time i drive it wont shift in to 3rd gear

It just won't shift to 3rd or shifts into neutral after 2nd? The 4t80E transmission is known for breaking the bracket that holds the shift solenoids.

Where is the starter for a 1995 oldsmobile 98 regency elite

The starter motor for your Oldsmobile is mounted at the front lower part of the engine, just behind the radiator.
Book time to replace by an experience person is 1.1 hours.
If you are looking to do this yourself, disconnect the battery negative terminal and isolate it.
Remove any covers or braces in order to access and remove the starter.
Remove the wires to the solenoid on the starter, then the bolts retaining the starter to the engine.
There may be some shims between the starter and the engine. You may need to replace these with the new starter.
Hope your repair goes well.

Car dies and it shiftsin to gear really hard

Sounds like you have a severe vacuum leak. Poor vacuum will cause the trans to shift hard, very hard, and will also cause driveability concerns. Check all of your vacuum lines make sure they are intact, and not broken or leaking, and replace any that look questionable.
