DIY Tips on How to Remove a Headlight Assembly

· For working on your vehicle, choose a clean section of driveway or a workspace (like a garage) with good light. Be patient and allow yourself plenty of time (two hours minimum) for changing a headlight. It might be simple, but it could also be more complicated than you planned.
· Place any retaining clips and fasteners that you've removed in a jar or can. They're too easy to lose otherwise.
· Use masking tape and a felt-tip pen to mark where the wiring came off, so it goes back on in the same way, meaning correctly.
· An old throw rug, a rubber mat, or a large piece of clean cardboard to lie on can make kneeling or working under the car more comfortable.
· Listen for a sharp click when connections are made.

Heed these tips and we expect that your headlight replacement efforts will go well. Read

what i suggest i can suggest is, buy a clear sealant, and seal the sides of the headlights.

the reason why is air can creep in tha lamps that's why it gets moisture (foggy) and dirty.

hope it helps.

SOURCE: headlight assembly

you will have to remove the front bumper cover to get to 2 bolts and also the grille to get another bolt off also there are are a total of 5 bolts that hold it in. be careful taking it out as you can crack the mounting brackets for the assembly just be patiece it will come out.

SOURCE: Bumper cover removal

It is a little more complicated than that. There are two nuts below the headlight assemblies in the engine compartment. You will need to remove the battery and overflow bottle to get at the one on the passenger side. Remove the turn signals in the bumper, then there are 2 or 3 bolts holding a mounting bracket behind the each of the turn signals. There are a number of bolts with washer heads and reatiners on the underside of the bumper as the previous responder indicated.

How do I replace a headlight on a 2000 Honda Accord?

I HIGHLY recommend CrystalView Headlight Cleaner. It is about $30, they sell it at auto stores and even Wal-Mart. It cleaned my dirty headlights very nicely. Follow the instructions perfectly and you wont be let down, I assure you.

While you're at the auto-store, you can find your replacement bulbs (REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHTS!!) in the books the stores provide.

How to assemble a 2000 honda accord headlamps

Its actually pretty straight forward. Disconnect the headlight. Then their are two bolt on the top the the headlight. Remove those then remove the wheel of the car. Then their are three more bolts bellow the headlight All three facing from the outside of the fender to the center of the car.

Then once you have those 5 bolts out. Pull the headlight forward and up. Their are two tabs that go into the fender.

You have a switch on your console that locks the headlights up without giving them power. Use that switch to leave the up and there a a few screws that hold the plastic cover around the lights, just remove the cover and there a a couple more screws behold that cover that hold the headlight in place.. Should take about ten min to do both sides.. Any questions feel free to ask
