My 04 Ford battery light on, had alternator checked out and was told it was fine. Replaced the orginal batteries in the truck thinking they were old. However after replacing the batteries i still have the battery light on and after 2 days the truck lost all power because the batteries are not being charged. ( the alternator is operating fine). Any ideas of what else may cause the problem. btw battery cables are tight and clean. I have also check for any kind of wirinig problems. ie chaffing or loose grounds and could find none. the engine is clean and i am the orginal owner. The only thing i have done to the truck before this started happening was replace the brake pads.
Possible that the alternator or the electronic charging unit has failed. You need to start and check the battery voltage with the car running and reving.

I have a F250 diesel, new duel batteries, looses a charge on left battery only in two days. Cannot find a slow leak or drawdown. Needs both batteries up to start. I will check the fuse for the alternator. However, if I use the truck every day no starting problems. It happens only when not used for two or more days. Oh, it hates starting in temps lower than 30 degrees. Luck, I live in SoCal and not Ak.
