Hi
Your alarm or engine immobiliser are usually wired into your ignition wire at the back of the dashboard you will probably need to find out where its been joined to your wiring loom a good starting point is to take your stereo headset out and have a look at the wiring behind it as usually alarm technicians go for the quickest route and you have an ignition cable that goes to your stereo
I hope this makes sense and helps you out. Nick

SOURCE: factory remote starter

A copy of the remote start installation manual is available on line.

Just a thought..put your key into the ignition but don't turn it. Try the remote start. If the car starts, tap the brake to shut it off. The problem is probably the 'key in' sensor, which consists of a band secured around the lock (remove the steering covers). The instructions for securing are in the manual.

SOURCE: fuel cut off switch for 1990/91 ford escort 1.9

The "inertia switch" which shuts off fuel to the engine in the event of a collision or jolt on a 1991 through 1996 models, as well as on 1998 coupes, is located in the rear of the vehicle, near the right (passenger's side) strut tower. On sedan and coupe models, open the trunk and remove the right-sided trim panel. On sedan and coupe models, open the trunk and remove the right-side trim panel. On hatchback and wagon models, there may be an access door secured by clips. On some models you may need to remove the lower quarter trim panel on the right side, however it is easier to cut an access hole directly above the switch.

SOURCE: 1991 Ford Escort fan will not turn on and motor overheats.

some water from the tail pipe is normal but if the car is running bad then it is possible the head gasket is blown. on the escorts that i have owned i have found that the main relay is usually burned and needs to be replaced. it is possible that the fan is dragging and burning this relay up if this relay is good then you may be better off taking it to the electrical shop.

SOURCE: how to turn off engine service light without

If it is a "soft fault" you can reset it by disconnecting the battery. If it is a hard fault you will need to have it reset by computer. Some parts stores have the equipment needed to reset a check engine light.

SOURCE: 1995 ford escort, alarm keeps going off and car wont start

The alarm brain should not be the easy to locate if stock. Put everything as it was. The alarm brain, control, module or whatever any one wants to call it is most likely behind and under the radio possibly on the floor but in that area. That is if it is OEM if not then it should have been installed under the instrument cluster. I should be a small box probably held with zip-ties and it should have all the information, manufacturer, model and wire functions on the brain. If you think he found the right thing then have him look for the red wire that connects to it. It should have a 15amp fuse on the cable. If its taken out this will disable the alarm. What ever he found should say Security, Alarm or something like that. Not door control or anything other.

1997 crown Victoria. viper alarm kill switch has turned all power to car. How do I reset

there is no override. Otherwise it would defeat the point of an immobilizer. I would find out why the alarm went off and deal with the rot cause rather than trying to bypass something made to be un-bypassable.

You may be able to reset the alarm by unplugging the battery from the car for a minute or 2 but I would start with the alarm manual to be safe. Possibly even remote the alarm and put the wiring back to stock.

Where is a kill switch located on a 2001 Buick century

There is no factory kill switch per say; there is an ignition interrupt in the ECU that is tied into the factory alarm system. So you won't find a physical switch or button that you can access.

Is there a kill switch for the alarm on a Subaru Baja

Your key is the kill switch. If you don't have a fob you can just put the key in the ignition and turn it back and forth several times (without starting the car) to turn alarm system off.

"2001 ford escort zx2 will

If it has a manual transmission, check the clutch start switch on the clutch pedal support. If it has an automatic transmission it could be the transmission range sensor mounted on top of the transmission right side of the engine. In either case it could be the ignition switch (this is the switch you put the key in to start the car).

I have a used 1997 Ford Escort. I did not get a remote entry system, just the keys. I just replaced the battery. When I hooked up the new battery, the horn went off and the doors locked. I was unaware...

You do have a security system. This should be transponder type security system, I don't believe it will start without key fob. There is an inhibitor relay for your starter motor circuit and security system. Check for applicable trouble codes, if there are any? Maybe you local dealership, talk to service department, see if they can get you a key fob. Go at it that way. I don't know about the cost?
You can usually jump the starter motor to see if it will crank the engine, but, that doesn't mean it will start. If you try that, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. Safety is your responsibility.

Car would not start. Put a new battery in and car started. Then locked car and set the alarm. Came out a couple hours later car would not start. Could it be the keyless alarm system its been acting funny...

Yes this is a normal problem with after market alarm systems. The system will lock out the starter or ignition system. have the alarm bypassed or removed.

I need to disable the factory alarm on my 2001 expedition. I'm looking for the valet switch under the dash. I've looked for an hr and can't find it. Where is it & what does it look like?

On that year/make/model there is no "valet" switch to speak of, and the factory alarm system can not be disabled without 5 times as much work and wiring as you would put in to fix the current problem. There's a good possibility that you have something simple like a failed GEM module, but without a complete diagnostic check, throwing parts at the problem won't fix a thing. In order to bypass the alarm you would need to rewire the entire databus system and then reprogram the modules to correspond with the removal of the anti-theft system, if there even IS a program you could install to let the modules know there is no longer an anti theft system in it. My suggestion, get either a good local independant on it, or dealer.

Car alarm

This is normally the alarm switch which is attached to the key barrel on the door. You will have to remove the door trim to get at it.
