This type of problem is caused by worn internal transmission parts. The best thing to do is find a local shop that repairs manual transmissions and have them drive the car and access the problem first hand, the can give you a preliminary diagnosis and cost to repair in most cases for free. If the transmission does need to come out (I think it will need to be removed) and be rebuilt try and find a used one or a re-manufactured one to save down time and cost.
