2004 toyota sienna sliding door locking trouble

I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna. When the keyless entry button is pushed (twice to unlock all the doors) on the keychain and then the DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING door is opened, the van locks itself in a minute or so as if none of the doors have been opened...... it must be a safety feature that if the keyless entry is pushed and no door has been opened within a minute or so, then, the van locks itself again.... But on my van, if only the driver's side sliding door was opened it locks itself..... If any of the other doors were opened after the button was pushed then the van DOES NOT lock itself....

Also if the Driver's side Sliding door is opened or ajar it does not give the warning light on the dash that it is opened or ajar like it does if any other door is opened

Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks, SJW

Sounds like something isn't right.Try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see if that helps. Some times the ecu gets haywired and disconnecting the battery might reset it.And if it is the original battery you might want to get it tested.

Need to turn off door sensor on 2004 Toyota Sienna

To turn off the door sensor on your 2004 Toyota Sienna, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Open the door of your Sienna and locate the door sensor, which is a small black or silver button located near the top of the door frame.
  2. Press and hold the door sensor button for a few seconds until the sensor's light turns off.
  3. Close the door and test the sensor to make sure it is no longer active.
Note: Disabling the door sensor will prevent your Sienna from automatically locking or unlocking the doors when you open or close them.

2000 Toyota Sienna power sliding door is jammed shut. Any solution?

Open the inside panel of the door by popping off the little white clips holding it on. The cable connected to the inside release button is either caught on something or has come lose. Check out this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkC2OiOiE_U

Back hatch door won't stay open

your gas struts are bad. there's a recall for this from Toyota. Go to your dealer and ask for it to be fixed, even if you are out of warranty for free.
