I'd still vote for the bulb being bad. The high and low beams use two different filaments, so unless the bulb is physically broken, it is common for the low beam to be bad whilst the high beam is good.

That's why you see some people driving around with their high beams on -- they don't want to get stopped for a 'light out' citation..

When you take the bulb out to replace it, be sure to look at how it is mounted before removing. You don't want to accidently adjust your headling out of kilter.

good luck

You probably have a bad plug or a broken wire on the low beam of the left side. I would replace the plug for the bulb and run a wire from the low beam on the right side or , locate and bypass the bad section of wire going to the current plug if the plug is still good.

Try resetting the computer. Unhook both battery cables and ground them out to the frame. This will bleed off any charge in the computer. Do this for at least 60 seconds. Hook the battery back up and check for messages.

If that doesn't help, make sure you have the correct bulbs. The computer sends a small electrical pulse to the lights to test them, several times a minute. If you've ever upgraded your lights (like to HID lights) or replaced the bulbs with something not OEM equivalent, this cal cause the "Lamp Out" condition.

that sounds like the dimmer switch has a problem it is not switching one side.
Poss switch or the wiring harness that plugs into dimmer switch.

Right headlight low beam does not work, high beam does. Left side headlight works fine

I had the same problem with my 2004 ram, passenger side low-beam wouldn't work after replacement. Online I saw many things from socket replacement to Fcm replacement. What worked was to remove fcm (front control module) and clean appropriate contacts with small nail file . Repair took less than 1 hour and cost 0$, wish I could give credit where I found info.

On a 2002 dodge ram 1500 truck the brake lights and the turn signals and winshield wipers dont work the only brake light that works is above the cab. and the turn signal flashes on the dash like they are...

I suspect a bad multi function switch located in the left hand side of the steering column. This switch controls your high/low beams/wiper delay/windshield washer/turn signals and hazards.

I have no headlights!! parking lights, taillights, and blinkers all work fine. none of my fuses or bulbs are blown

I have a 2004 ram 2500 and all my lights work except for low beams. It is not in the switch, I haver replaced the switch with no change. This is a circuit problem with these dodge pickups. I haven't firgured out what it is but it isn't the switch. and unless the low beams and high beams are fused seperate, it isn't a fuse problem either. i have looked for a fuse and can't even find the fuse for the headlights. Im lost like you!
