Headlight sensor I need to replace the sensor that decides when to turn on my headlights when they're in automatic mode. In the middle of the day, the systems says my lights should be on and dims my dashboard lights. For some reason it also stops my left-turn signal from working. If I manually turn of the lights everything works again, but then my turn signal doesn't work at night and I'm always having to remember to turn the auto headlights off during the day.

I have seen the sensor fall out of the dash housing. When you put it back it should be good again.

SOURCE: The headlights only work on Bright. The dim

could be dimmer switch, may heat up and kill lights or maybe headlamp switch, your at a point were you are going to have to replace parts, first thing is headlamp switch, take apart but leave it pulged in when lights dont work install new switch and see if that works, this is not a diffuclt problem dont know why dealer could not pin point, anyway start there, good luck.

SOURCE: 1999 buick century. headlights won't come on

Sounds like you don't have power to the switch or the auto switch. When you pull on the turn switch you are just flahing the high beams.Almost all gm's will do that.Would try and check fuses or get a wiring digrahm and see were the power comes from to feed the switch. If you work on apliances its about the same.Well good luck

Automatic headlight system

There is a light sensor that is responsible for turning on the lights in dim condition. Obviously, it is not working and needs to be replaced to restore normal operation.

On my 2005 Chevy trailblazer my headlights are automatic, randomly when I'm driving they turn off on my and my high beams still work. I checked the fuses they still work. Can someone please help me?

They are controlled by a photosensor, my subaru legacy does the same thing, switch from running lights to main headlights when in auto mode, if you want to leave the lights on all the time switch out of auto mode

Headlights will not turn off automatically

it will turn off automatically if you keep them on Automatic mode, see the option of automatic mode over the Headlights ON/OFF switch.

1998 Lumina lights don't work at night! The lights work during the day but not at night. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Theres a sensor in the middle of the dash by the front windshield that detects sunlight and triggers the automatic headlights. The main headlights and daytime running lights might be on a different circuit, in which case they daytime running lamps would turn off at night and the main headlights would turn on, indicating the main headlights arent working and the daytime running lamps are working as intended.

I would check all the fuses related to headlights, check the bulbs and check the switch, then last the light sensor on the dash.

Will Hyundai accent 2003 turn headlights off automatically when ignition is off?

Does your vehicle have daytime running lights? If so, it's a far more complicated system and you'll probably have to take it to a shop.

The xenon headlights on my 2002 Audi TT quattro are aiming down. Can only see about 10 feet in front at night. Recently had the headlight sensor replaced & was told that the headlights would adjust...

go back to were you had the sensor replaced and have them repair the problem this should have been working properly before it left the shop.it could even be a bad sensor.

you need a headlight relay fuse. it should be a big square fuse on the front driver side.
